Um, well, you know, so _ [Eb] we've been real fortunate as young Hawaiians.
I [Bb] think it's a blessing that we have Mele Hawaii because Mele Hawaii has [Eb] given us many opportunities.
We've been able to travel because of Mele.
We've been able to [D] pay bills because of Mele.
I mean, honestly, we've been able to do a lot and have a lot of fun and be here with you.
[G] We've been able to meet a lot of people because of Mele.
I mean, I think it's a, I think it's part of the kuleana of Mele that in the most honest [Eb] attempts that we as Mea Ho'okani, like we try to give back.
I mean, we try to, we try to add to what Mele has given us.
[F] And, you know, when Grant composed, when [Eb] Grant composed Ke Waka Ugi, you know, that [G] is our attempt to add to Mele because it's given us so much.

And, you know, fortunately enough, [Eb] I've been born and raised on the island of Maui.
And my parents, my mom and [G] dad and my auntie Gail has made the trip all the way from Maui today to be [A] with us.

But, um, but, you [Gb] know, my mom's here because, you know, my son and she gets to spend time with her grandson.
So that's awesome.
But, you know, [Bb] growing up in Wailuku, a lot of times a lot of people don't get to call it one [Gb] place home because for whatever reason, you got to move or for whatever reason.
Right.
And I've been real fortunate to grow up in the same house, in the same home.
I mean, so I call Wailuku home.
And for me, wherever you're from, I hope this Mele just kind of brings you back to the idea of [Bb] I'm grateful for home.

We're gonna get through this.

But my parents always sacrificed whatever they needed to do so that me and my siblings [Dm] had, like just had.
