[F]
Brian Ferry is a [A] legend.
It's real music, you know, it's real [F] music.
[Fm]
[Ab] [Bb] [G] You can [F] feel the roots of electronic [D] music.
It's back to the [F] future.
[Eb] [Bb] [Cm] [F]

[Bm]
[B]
[Bm]
Electronic Beats, the organizers, approached Mark Grafae,
who [B] has curated something similar to this before in [G] Paris,
and [B] he then said, look, you know,
the [Gb] guys in Berlin have found this great space
and we think it would be [B] quite cool to, you [D] know,
try and do something a bit different here.
[Bm]
Do you come for us?
[B] It's very amusing for me, you know, to look back occasionally.
It's not every day I get to see pictures
way back through the archive.
It's quite interesting to have a pictorial survey
of the things we've been doing over the years.
[Gb] This mix of cover art and him, and then also beautiful women,
which he has always distinguished,
[B] and the Kate Moss photos from this Olympia campaign are really great.
I [A] think everybody's an artist apart from music.
[B] Everybody's got a second string to their bow,
so I guess he's a great photographer.
As I always say, the music is the [E] [Gb] main message of my [Bm] work.
But we've always tried to make it interesting visually, you know.
It's [B] good to see the photographs from the past
together with the album covers that we've made over the years.
[Bm] [B] I'm a big fan of Berlin also.
I love coming here.
There's always a kind of, I don't know, intellectual curiosity here,
which is kind of married with a [Bm] kind of element of edginess,
which I think [A] is always very good.
[Gb] Please have a big welcome for Mr.
Brian Currie and Mr.
[A] Michael Bracewell.
Hello.
Hi, how are you?
Was it difficult for you to decide when you were an art student,
when you were a young man, between your passion for painting and for art
and your desire to become a musician and a singer?
[Am]
The nagging thing was always, oh, can I do something in music?
I wasn't really sure.
As much as I loved it, I wasn't sure I had any talent,
and I'm still quite unsure.
But I don't know, I just thought, well, maybe I could do something
which fused my interests in
[A] creativity, in art, with writing songs.
So I started writing these songs and trying to put together a band.
And I was very, very fortunate to have some [Dm] great people
who I kind [A] of gradually [F] pulled into my orbit.
[C]
[D]
[A] [Am]
[E] I'm a musician.
[G]
[D] [E]
[D] I'm a musician.
[E] I'm a musician.
I'm a musician.
[G] [E]
[G] I'm a musician.
[A] [E]
Nowadays it can be considered cruel to endorse a [N] brand like that,
whereas even ten years ago it was quite different, I think.
The music business has grown up quite a lot over the years,
and now accepts [Gb] that kind of thing,
which in the past would have been seen as selling out or something.
Now it's considered kind of an intelligent thing to do.
[F] The whole art and music scene of Berlin was waiting for this concert to happen.
So I'm happy to be involved,
because [Eb] not everything [Bbm] you do is always [Bb] successful.
But I think this [Cm] evening will be [G] one to remember.
[Dbm] [A]
[Dbm] [Bm]
I really [Dbm] don't know what's going to happen tonight.
I think [A] it's one of these very classy, [Dbm] Brian Ferry, [Bm] big orchestra events.
That's all [Em] I know.
I'll let myself be [G] surprised.
He has been such an [E] influence on electronic music, I [G] think.
Just go [Eb] ask all the young electronic artists and they'll tell you.
[Ab] It's great to be surrounded by young people [Gbm] in my work.
[E] I think [Eb] it's always good to have [E] a blend of maturity
[B] and the excitement that comes with youth and people doing it for the first time.
I think the band illustrates that.
[Abm]
[Ebm] [Abm]
[Bb] [Ebm]

[Dbm] [Ab]
[Ebm]
[Dbm] [Abm]

[Dbm] [Abm]
[Bb] [Ebm]
[Dbm] [Abm] I think I've reached a position in my career
where [Ebm] I'm not only a musician, but a musician of the world.
I'm not really affected by [Ab] what goes on elsewhere.
[B] I think now I've reached [Ab] such a grand old age, [Bb] it's kind of [Abm] immaterial.
[C] A full [Dm] band of that size on stage [C] and him delivering [D] vocally,
especially, I think, it's just amazing.
Once in a lifetime to see Brian Ferry.
That was the task achieved.
I've been to quite a few electronic beats [G] events.
They're [E] always really nice and also very [Eb] special people.
Very eclectic, [Bbm] not just from one genre.
[E] Do it again.
More [Bm] like this.
[F] I'm in.
