Electronic Beats, the organizers, approached Mark Grafae,
who [B] has curated something similar to this before in [G] Paris,
and [B] he then said, look, you know,
the [Gb] guys in Berlin have found this great space
and we think it would be [B] quite cool to, you [D] know,
try and do something a bit different here.
[Bm] _ _
Do you come for us?
[B] It's very amusing for me, you know, to look back occasionally. _
It's not every day I get to see pictures _ _
way back through the archive. _ _ _
It's quite interesting to have a pictorial survey
of the things we've been doing over the years. _
_ _ _ [Gb] _ This mix of cover art and him, and then also beautiful women,
which he has always distinguished,
[B] and the Kate Moss photos from this Olympia campaign are really great. _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _ _
I [A] think everybody's an artist apart from music.
[B] Everybody's got a second string to their bow,
so I guess he's a great photographer.
As I always say, the music is the _ [E] _ [Gb] main message of my [Bm] work.
But we've always tried to make it interesting visually, you know.
It's [B] good to see _ _ the photographs from the past
together with the _ album covers that we've made over the years. _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ [Bm] _ _ _ [B] I'm a _ big fan of Berlin also.
I love coming here.
_ There's always _ a kind of, I don't know, intellectual curiosity here,
which is kind of married with a [Bm] kind of element of _ edginess,
which I think [A] is always very good. _

Hi, how are you?

_ _ _ Was it difficult for you to decide when you were an art student,
when you were a young man, between your passion for painting and for art
and your desire to become a musician and a singer?
_ _ [Am]
The nagging thing was always, oh, _ can I do something in music?
I wasn't really sure.
As much as I loved it, I wasn't sure I had any talent,
and I'm still quite unsure.
_ _ _ _ But I don't know, I just thought, well, maybe I could do something
which fused my interests _ _ in _
[A] creativity, in art, with writing songs.
_ So I started writing these songs and trying to put together a band.
And _ _ _ I was very, very fortunate to _ _ _ have some [Dm] great people
who I kind [A] of gradually [F] pulled into my orbit.

_ [A] _ _ _ _ _ _ [Am] _

_ _ Nowadays it can be considered cruel _ to endorse a [N] brand like that,
whereas even ten years ago it was quite different, I think.
The music business has grown up quite a lot over the years,
and _ now accepts [Gb] _ that kind of thing,
_ which in the past would have been seen as selling out or something.
Now _ _ it's considered kind of an intelligent thing to do.
[F] The whole art and music scene of Berlin was _ waiting for this concert to happen. _ _
_ _ So I'm happy to be involved,
because [Eb] not everything [Bbm] you do is always [Bb] successful.
But I think this _ [Cm] evening will be [G] one to remember. _
[Dbm] _ _ _ _ _ [A] _ _ _
_ _ [Dbm] _ _ _ _ [Bm] _ _
_ I really [Dbm] don't know what's going to happen tonight.
I think [A] it's one of these very classy, _ [Dbm] Brian Ferry, [Bm] big orchestra events.

He has been such an [E] influence on electronic music, I [G] think.
Just go [Eb] ask all the young electronic artists and they'll tell you.
[Ab] It's great to be surrounded by young people [Gbm] _ _ in my work. _
[E] _ _ _ I think [Eb] it's always good to have [E] a blend of maturity _ _ _ _
[B] and the excitement that comes with youth _ and people doing it for the first time.
_ I think the band illustrates that.

[C] A full [Dm] band of that size on stage [C] and him delivering _ [D] vocally,
especially, I think, it's just amazing.
Once in a lifetime to see Brian Ferry.
That was the task achieved.
I've been to quite a few electronic beats [G] events. _
They're [E] always really nice and also very [Eb] special people.
Very eclectic, [Bbm] not just from one genre.
[E] Do it again.
