[C] This is my [Ab] signature ESP Viper [G] called the Volsung.
I got the name from Northern European [E] history,
[F] and my mom was the one that clued me in on the Volsung,
[G] which is a long line of Danish kings that [E] met a horrible end.
They, like, kill [G] each other and stuff.
And I don't know, for whatever reason, it [Fm] really stuck with me,
[G] and it's very fitting with the Danish camo theme.
It's got my signature pickups in it, which are Seymour Duncan's.
And then you can play fast sh**.
[C] You know what I mean?
But [F] you can play, like, mid-tempo [C] kind of stuff.
[F] [G]
[C] You don't really [A] lose [G] any of the tone or the [Gb] heaviness of it.
[Bb] And then the neck, it moves real fast.
[A]
[Dm] [A]
[Bb] You know, you want to get up and down the neck as fast as you can.
You can one-tone knob, two volume knobs,
because a lot of the times I'll use this rhythm pickup as an on and off switch.
[G] But then, like, if I'm doing a song like Little Sammy's a Punk Rocker or whatever,
I'll roll this back, roll this a little bit forward.
[C] [G] A lot [A] of the times, you know, I'm using, you know, this one will be off
because I [G] wanted to have an on and off switch so I could just go.
[Gb] And so throughout the set, you know, depending on what [Bb] band,
I'm always constantly adjusting my volume knob, too, for different tones.
I mean, I would be on a different [Ab] channel, but for, like, [Bb] the ska,
[Bm] you know, [E] I would get a cleaner.
[Bm] [E]
[A] [D] [E]
[D] [B] Or a Ruby Soho, [G]
you know, for the [C] verses be more.
[D] [G] [A] So the picky stuff, I can roll [G] the volume knob back,
and when I want to get [F] a little bit more heavier, [Ab] I just crank it.
I [G] play in a few other bands, Rancid being obviously the [E] main band.
[Gb] The other bands I play in are [F] the old-form casuals,
Oxy's Midnight Runners and Stomper [G] 98.
[Ab] And they're all [E] kind of different styles,
and the [Gb] one thing I love about this guitar is that you can play hardcore [Db] with it,
you can play metal with it, you [D] can [Gb] play Slade-style rock and roll with it,
you can play [F] punk rock, you can play [Eb] oi, you can play whatever you want with it.
[E] And for me, that's, like, the best thing in the world,
[A] because I do love all those styles of music.
