Start Jamming...
[D] I [G]
[D] [Gm] guess what song, what [Bb]
was the [N] rhyme that put me on or really [C] did it for me, I guess
the [Gm] obvious one would be Jump [E] Around.
[Gm] You know I had already been a part of Rhyme Syndicate and made a couple records over there
[N] [F] but after knowing Muggs for a while and then meeting B-Real, [Bb] B-Real [Gm] kind of encouraged
Muggs to get at me and work with him.
[Bb] [G] And one of the first tracks we did [A] was Jump [Gm] Around.
He played me a beat, [Bb] told me if I liked it, I [Bm] did.
I [Bb] went out in the driveway of his aunt's house.
He lived [Eb] in [Bb] his own little part of his aunt's [Eb] house out [Am] in Bell [F] Gardens.
I [C] [Dm] wrote the verses of Jump Around [D] basically in [Bb] the driveway.
I [Eb] came back in, spent the rhyme for him and he liked it.
[F] But there was a part that I was [C] like a fan of [Dm] Shabba Ranks and that kind of stuff so
I had this one [Ebm] part where I said, Jump Around if you [A] love freedom, something like that.
Jump Around if you [Gm] love culture, trying to give a little shout out to my fandom of that.
[G] Muggs was [Ebm] like, no, no, hold up, you [G] say Jump Around, [Dm] we're going to make a record.
The chorus is [Eb] just going to be Jump, Jump, Jump.
He [Bm] just saw it immediately and that's how the chorus came about.
[Gm]
Up until this point it [Eb] didn't even have the piercing horn in it yet so it [F] was just
kind of a chugging beat.
I remember once he put that on it, [Dm] [Eb] it was kind of ridiculous and we all knew that something
fun was happening but [F] you never would have [C] guessed 20 years [Dm] later it's still kind of
a crazy [A] record.
So thanks [Bb] a lot Muggs.
But be real, because you passed on that beat, you know it.
I appreciate that man.
[A]
Just let it slip through your fingers but [Eb] I was right behind you playing the secondary.
I got you.
[Gm] We're good.
Soul Assassin's.
[Em] [E]
