There's an old story that was told at our home many, many years ago.
when [Ab] one-ness believers were locked [Abm] in a theological battle
[Eb] [Gb] with people who [Db] believed there was more than one person in the Godhead.
And [Ab] they were persecuting them, and they said,
because we don't believe this Jesus-only message.

_ _ _ Let's lift our hands and love the Lord all over this building.
_ [Gb] The Holy Ghost [Ab] is in this place.
I know we're recording tonight.
I know that we're going to sing for the glory of God, but the Holy Ghost is in this place.
_ _ _ Hallelujah, hallelujah. _
_ There's an old story that was told at our home many, many years ago.
In the [Bbm] early days of Pentecost, when [Ab] one-ness believers were locked [Abm] in a theological battle
[Eb] [Gb] with people who [Db] believed there was more than one person in the Godhead. _
And [Ab] they were persecuting them, and they said,
you're going to have to leave our ranks, because we don't believe this Jesus-only message.
And we don't believe the name of Jesus is necessary for a [Db] person to be baptized.
_ [Ab]
And the majority of men stood against a group of one-ness believers who said to themselves,
yeah, but Jesus is the mighty God in Christ. _
[N] _ _ [Abm] _ _ _ [Bbm] _ And one of [Ab] the champions of that [Eb] faith was G [Ab].T. Haywood.
And it was the early 1900s, [Db] and they _ [Gb] had very cutting things to [Ab] say, very harsh things to say.
And they [Eb] talked about how bad he was, and how he didn't know what he was talking about,
and how he was deceiving everybody [Ab] with this one-God message.
[Eb] And finally, one of their great orators, a man very famous in that day,
[Ab] looked over at [Ebm] the assembled people and [Ab] said,
I don't want you to be deceived [Gb] by this man over [B] here, pointing [Ab] to G.T. Haywood.
And [Bb] said, he preaches about the name of Jesus, and he preaches that [Ab] there's one God.
He said, but I want to tell you, brethren, that it's just a bunch of hay, wood, [Abm] and stubble. _
[Gb] _ _ And the tongue-in-cheek, _ _ [Ab] sarcastic barb caused everybody to chuckle and everybody [Abm] to laugh at [Gb] the one-ness believers.
And [E] [Bbm] everybody looked at Brother [Ab] Haywood, and everybody kind of smirked and laughed, and what are they going to do?
[E] And then it got quiet, and the story [Eb] says that Brother Haywood just kind of stood there for a moment. _
And every eye was fastened on him, a black man [F] in a time of great racial tension.
_ [G] And when he finally spoke, what he said was, _
Everybody [F] ought to know, _ _ _ _
[C] _ _ everybody ought to [F] know, _
[D] everybody ought to [G] know, _ [F] _ _
[C] who Jesus is. _ _ _ _
He [Am] is the [F] lily of [Am] the [Bb] _ valley, _ _ _ and [Am] he's the [Dm] bright and the morning [C] star.
_ _ [F] He is the fairest of ten [Bb] _ thousand. _ _ _
[F] And [D] everybody _ ought [F] to know.
[Dm] Worship with us as we glorify God tonight. _ _ _ _
