_ _ Alright, we're doing a Favorite Girl by Justin Bieber today.
_ _ _ There is four chords in most of the songs.
There's one change during the bridge when it quiets down, but the verse and the [Gm] chorus
are the same four [A] chords in the same order.
So this will be a pretty short [C] tutorial because you know these chords.
It is a C, _ _ _ then an E minor, [Em] _ _ _ _ then a G, but when you play your G, and I almost always
play my G like this anyway.
I play 3rd fret, 2nd fret like everyone [G] does, but I put my ring finger on the [F#] 3rd fret of
the B string and my pinky on the 3rd fret of the high E string.
So I'm using all four fingers, _ [G] _ and I think this makes it much, much easier to transition
to a D chord because [D] the ring finger now does not change [G] position, so you can use it kind
of as an anchor, a lead finger [D] into your D.
So just a suggestion, [C] you don't have to do that, but that's how I play it.
So those chords again are C, _ _ [Em] E minor, _
_ _ [G] G, _ [D] D. _
_ And that is almost all of the song.
So the rhythm [C] goes like this.
_ _ _ _ [Em] E minor, _ _ _ [G] G, _ _ _ _ D.
_ _ _ [C]
C, _ _ _ [Em] E minor, _
_ _ [G] G, _ _ _ _
[D] D.
_ _ _ That's the verse, and that's the chorus, [G] and the bridge _ only uses one extra chord.
It is a chord that you probably [E] don't play normally, so we'll go over that one and we'll be done.
So the bridge goes into a C, it starts with a [C] C, _ _ then it goes to a D, [D] _ _ _ then it goes to
a [G] G, _ _ except when you play your G in the bridge part, don't play the actual G note.
The low [F#] G note.
Just play it as a five string chord [G] if you can.
_ _ _ If you listen to the song, that's how it sounds.
[F#] So it's the same G as you always play, just don't play the bottom E.
A lot of times [Em] when
I'm trying not to play that [E] string, I use my thumb to mute [F] it.
I just kind of curl it [G] around.
So I'm only playing five strings, but these fingers are the same as a normal G [C] string.
So the bridge goes _ _ _ [Em] C, [D] D, _ _ _ [G] G, but only five strings. _
_ _ [C] C, _ _ C, _ _ _ _ [D] D, _ and now on the second kind of run around on the bridge, [N] we do the new chord,
and that is going to be first fret of the D string, second fret of the G string, leave
the [F#] B string open, and second fret of the _ high E string, and only play four [D#] strings.
_ [B] _
_ _ _ _ _ _ _
So playing the [Em] whole bridge, there's kind of two loops.
The first loop goes [C] C, _ _ _ [D] D, _ _ five [G] string G, _ _ _ [C] C, _ _ now it goes C, _
_ _ [G] _ [D] D, _ now [B] the new chord, _ _ _ [Em] E minor,
_ _ _ [C] and then it goes back to the same four chords [Em] as before.
C, E minor, [G] G, _
_ _ [D] D, _ and it goes right back [C] into it.
_ _ _ [Em] _ _ _
_ _ [G] _ _ _ _ _ _
[D] _ _ _ _ _ And that is the whole song.
So _ message with any comments or questions as usual, _ _ _ and feel free to request a song.
I'm always looking for new [G] ideas for
