And I'm not sure I can [A] explain why I'm [C] even [A] playing the song, why it's on [Bb] my repertoire.
I do remember the song from [B] my childhood [Bb] and I wasn't particularly impressed at the time.
I [B] was more into rock music and I was not impressed by [Bb] the guitar.
The trumpet didn't impress me at all. _ _ _
[A] _ Horns, [Bb] all that old people stuff.
But in later years I was quite impressed that the song, and I'm amazed actually now, that
it [A] actually was in the top of the charts and there was a [Ab] guitar solo [G] in it and it was an
instrumental [Gb] and it was kind of jazz and, _ [Ab] _ you know, [D] tastes change and not for the [Am] better
unfortunately these days.
But anyway, I forgot about the song for many, many [Bb] years and was reminded again in the 90s
because I'm a huge King of the Hill fan _ and Chuck Mangione makes some great _ [G] appearances
_ _ just milking the [Ab] song for all it's [G] worth.
_ [Bb] _ He's [G] just very [Bb] self-deprecating and _ [B] just [G] hilarious. _ _
_ _ [Bb] One episode where there's the explosion [G] at the [Ab] Megalomart and he comes, _ kind of his head
hurts and he's like, I don't feel so good.
It's [Gb] just, it's _ gold.
[D] Anyway, I was reminded of the song lately again and [A] thought I'd put together a little
