[Em] Hi, I'm Neville [B] Martin from Guitarist Magazine, and [C] today I've got three funky Fender [A] Stratocasters to show you.
[B] [Em] So what we've done here is recorded [D] three short pieces of [B] music, each one [C] played with a different guitar.
All [A] the amplifier settings, [B] pickup [Em] selections, mixer settings, reverbs [D] are identical for each guitar,
so any [C] differences you hear are the guitars themselves.
[F#]
[B] The 60th [Em] anniversary Classic Player 50 Strat [D] is the cheapest of the three guitars here, but [C] no way does it punch below its weight.
It's a [F#] great guitar, it looks [B] amazing, the neck's [Em] lovely, it's tinted down so it looks really [D] aged, so it's a very tasty guitar [C] indeed.

[A] [G] [Em] [A] The American Standard 60th [C] anniversary Commemorative Strat is the middle-priced guitar [B] in the three we have for you [Em] today.
It's also the most modern [D] feeling and the most modern [B] sounding.
It's got [C] a slim C-section neck, with [F#m] 22 frets, not [B] 21, and they're a little [Em] bit more jumbo than usual.
[D] It's got nice pearl-oiled tuner buttons, [C] gold-plated parts, and it's got a two-piece sash [F#] body.
It's a really tasty [B] feeling guitar.
[Em] Like I said, this was the most modern sounding, and [D] to our ears the brightest of the three guitars.
[C] But interestingly, when we stacked the [Am] tracks up together, [B] they started [Em] to gel really nicely, and they [D] blended really beautifully.
And we particularly liked [C] the strident sound of that neck pickup [Am] for the solo, it sounded [B] really nice.

[C]
[A] [E] The American Vintage 54 Strat is the most expensive of [C] our three guitars, and it's the one that [F#m] adheres the most closely [B] to the original [Em] Stratocaster format.
It's an ash body with [D] a two-tone sunburst, one-piece [C] maple neck, 21 frets, and all the [F#m] usual Stratocaster [B] layout.
The [Em] 54 has got the biggest neck by far of our three [D] guitars, but it's a really comfortable handful.
[Em] Also, the hardware is slightly [Am] different, in as [B] much as the pickup [Em] housings and the three knobs and the pickup [D] selector cap are all slightly [Em] different shape, because they conform much more [Am] accurately to how the 54 [B] Strat originally [Em] was.
Sonically, this Strat sits right [D] in the middle of the other two.
[C] It's a lovely smooth sound, it's fat, it's [Am] not too bright, [B] and it really is a [Em] joy to play.
