[Cm] [Ab]
The Baja Tele concept [F] happened seven [Eb] or eight years ago and
[Bbm] The idea was to do a classic player version of a telecaster that I made in the custom shop a lot
which was a 50s version with a special neck shape and a special set of pickups and
It proved to be a very popular instrument.
And so
When I got the opportunity to do something new with the platform, I thought well, you know, let's do a 60s version [Fm] of it
And so that's what this guitar is all about
[F]
[C] [F] One of the things about this guitar that I really like is that it's got the same features as the 50s version of this
But it's got all the 60s appointments some of the features on this instrument include
Vintage style bridge but with brass saddles.
We have a 58 tele bridge pickup here and a 52 tele neck pickup
And these are designed for the new vintage series and Corona
It comes in three colors candy apple red this one
Which is a faded sonic blue and also a three-tone sunburst.
The neck shape is is the kind of stock 60s
It's got a nice slim feeling neck is really really comfortable.
It's got the
Slab board like from early 60s as opposed to a round land from the later 60s
It's also got the s1 switch which takes the pickups in and out of phase with each other
So with this depressed the s1 it makes the both these pickups out of phase
Which gives it that kind of nasally t-bone Walker sound?
[Fm]
[Ab] [Bb]
[C] [F]
The nice feature this though is that because of the four-way switch
You can get two out-of-phase sounds one in parallel and one in series
So the series version which is all the way up forward like this
Gives the output double so you have an out-of-phase sound that's actually at the same level as the other pickups
[Bb]
[Bbm] [Fm] So you get the idea there all the way in the first position is the bridge pickup.
It's pretty [F] twangy and
[Ab] [Bb]
[F] [Fm]
then neck [Fm] pickup
[Bb]
[F]
Now if you depress the s1 switch we get out of phase sound and in the fourth position the out-of-phase sound
Is at a higher level so you get a nasally sound, but it's got pretty good [G] output
[Bb]
and [Gb] with s1 down it only works in the
Positions two and four where the two pickups are on [Cm] it's [Bm] [Bbm]
[F]
[Bb]
[F] very comfortable guitar really nice playing guitar very comfortable
You can get a lot of sounds out of it, and I think you're going to enjoy it
