It's time to take a look at one of the ash-bodied Total Tone Strats from the Fender Custom [D#] Shop.
This one [D] is a 57, and it features a relic finish and a real comfortable soft V-neck profile.
[F#] Here's a refresher on what the Total [D] Tones are all about.
At the heart of these handcrafted Custom [D] Shop creations are two distinct features which set these guitars apart from the rest.
Lineage Red pickups are custom designed and made just for the Total Tone 56 and 57 Strats.
[F#] The goal was to have a hotter output 50's spec [D] pickup, but with that extra mid-range and punchy top [F#] end, unlike a lot of overwound pickups.
And you'll find that this version of the Total Tone Series is currently the only Fender Custom Shop creation to use the [F#m] latest 2013 American Vintage hardware.
And it ensures that this 57 Total Tone Strat [D] plays and feels just like an original.
