With this song, I don't know what it is.
This past week, God has just kept on my heart and on my mind.
I've thought about teaching other songs.
I've taught this song 4 or 5 years ago.
It's one of the first ones I've taught.
Constantly as I try to look through song lists, decide what [G] to sing,
this song keeps popping up over and over.
[N] As we enter this Easter season,
_ we have to stand in awe of God and the price that Christ paid for us. _
I can give you lists and 3 checkpoints and do this and do that.
But the best advice I can give any of us is to stand in awe of our Savior Jesus Christ
and the price that He paid for us on the cross.
I'm convinced of myself we just take it too casual.
We just hear it.
We hear it Sunday.
We hear it on the TV.
We'll fly through a few scriptures, maybe a morning devotional,
and take it too casual that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
For God so loved the world, He gave His only [G] Son.
It just blows my mind.
Let's go into the song tutorial here, but just ponder.
It's more than learning chords.
It's [E] more than going through [G] a few rhythm, [N] strum patterns.
It's about, this life is about living in awe of Jesus every single day
with every breath you take.
_ While we were yet sinners, Christ left the throne of heaven
and took the humiliation and humbled Himself even to the cross.
If that doesn't change your life, nothing will.
Until you are ready to respond to that, and just in awe of that,
there's nothing, any songs, any chords, any to-do lists, any counselors, any [A#] pastors,
anything you can read or [N] say, nothing you can do that can fix your life
until you learn to be in awe of that cross and the price that Jesus Christ paid
to take on our sins when it should have been [C] us.

The way I play my C, G, D, and E minor is I keep those bottom two
strings locked.

But again Easter is coming up and it's time that we just
stop our lives, stop the chaos, stop your jobs, stop your pursuit or lack of or
fulfillment through a relationship, through your finances, your job, through
anything good, bad, just stop and stand in awe of that cross. _ _
Surrender your life
to Christ and just ponder on what He's done.
My [Fm] pastor this week talked
about [G] when Christ was in the Garden of Gethsemane, He was praying, Father if there's
any way, any way this can be done different, please.
And He sweat like
drops of blood the Bible says because it was so intense because though He was
God, He was a hundred percent human [N] and He felt that pain and at that point God
turned His back because God, this holy perfect God cannot even be in the presence of sin.
He
turned His face on Jesus as Jesus cried out in agony because He had to allow Jesus to bore our sin and shame and take it all the way to that cross.
But the good news,
the gospel means good news, the good news, it did not end in that cross.
The good news is on the third day He rose from that grave and now He's up in
heaven and the Bible says He's coming back that where I am, I'm going to receive you.
In my Father's house are many mansions.
I go to prepare a place for you that I'm going to come back.
I'm going to receive you into my own.
So it said,
He says do not let your heart be _ _ troubled.
You believe in God, believe also in me.
That was Jesus telling His disciples in the last day.
_ Guys, let's focus on the cross.
Let's surrender our life to Him.
Let this Easter season or whenever you're watching this video be a checkpoint, a kickoff to the new faith you want to go to.
That you're going to surrender and just take rest and refuge in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.
Make religion take a back seat to Jesus Christ because it's through that relationship in Him that we find our fulfillment, our forgiveness, our peace, our joy, our peace.
Our joy, our purpose, our life, our everything.
Live for Him today.
