Okay
Hi there.
This is SG.
I'm a musician, singer-songwriter, blah blah blah
I'm just here to do a short tutorial on my arrangement of Fly Me to the Moon
The one I play has evolved a bit and it's got a bunch of whole new embellishments and licks and stuff
I'm not really gonna put those in this and I'm gonna keep this as simple as possible
Into the point as possible.
So you just learn the basics, you learn the melody, you learn the chords, you learn how to [E] interact
[N] And after that you can just develop it your own way, play it your own way, find your own style, add your own bits
If you want to hear about some of the embellishments you can listen to my other video when I actually recorded it in full
Yeah, this is gonna be made available with a tab for this which is the chords.
I didn't do the melody, it's too simple
Tabs in the chords are down in the description.
It's also available on my website at
www .esgi.co.uk
Lots of updates coming on there, so subscribe or whatever you do
Yeah, so there you go, let's get down to business
As you know the song starts with Fly Me to [G] the Moon
[Fm] [A] [D]
It's fine to start [Am] with that
[Dm] But I'd like to [Db] add a few notes before just to introduce the listener to the fact the [Eb] song's coming
[E]
[G] [Ebm] I think I've got an idea of [E] Martin Taylor
[C] Okay, so when you come up to the C [N] to begin the song properly
You move down and put your first finger on the fifth [Am] fret of the bar
You're gonna keep that there, because that's gonna play a whole bunch of chords and melody for the first part of the song
[G] [F]
[G]
So you haven't had to move this finger at all.
[Ab] Now, I'm gonna play this, [F] [C]
leading to the Cmaj7
[Ab] And then I'm [F]
gonna [Fm] [B]
[E] [Fm] [A] play [E] the
[Am] A7
As you go to the [A] A7, which is because [Am] you're playing open
[Db]
[Gb] You want to dampen the chord that you [A] just played, which is the A minor
Bass of your thumb
[E] On the side of your [Eb] thumb here.
So you're damping the chord, damping the [Am] notes
[A]
[Am] [A]
Then bing bong bong, [G] then [E] back up to the D7
[F] Playing the C
[G]
[C]
[Em] [Am] [F]
And the same thing we did down here, dampening the notes
[G]
[E] [F]
[G] I like to think of that as kind of like a bird soaring or something.
It reaches the peak and then it just swoops back [Dm] down again
[F]
[G] [Fm]
[C] [G] [E]
Back to the main [G] melody
And then [Am] [Dm]
[G] [Gb]
[G] [Ab]
[C] you're [F]
[E] playing the same thing [Dm] more or less than the first time around
[E] [Am]
[A] Now obviously that's A minor, A7
[Dm]
[G]
[E] [B]
[Ab] [G]
[C]
[G]
[C]
Sounds a bit out of tune actually
Stinking A string
And that's it.
[E] I mean, I can't think of anything else you'd need to know
It's that simple.
I mean, I can't
they're just notes.
You just play notes
[Am]
[Dm] [G]
[C] [F] [G]
[B] [E] [A]
[F] [G]
I mean, yeah, once you learn it
[D] It's really down to you with the things you want to leave out, other things you want to add in
Yeah, it's just a nice song to play.
Simple, easy, impresses people, everybody likes it
Cool.
If you've got any other ideas or any other
questions about this song that I haven't addressed
Leave a message and I'll try and address them in another video or I'll just apply something
Yeah, that's it really.
Cool.
