1.
That was the Foo Fighters with These Days.
The Foo Fighters have experimented with a
lot of alternate tunings.
This one, it's standard tuning.
Cool song, man.
So let's jump right
into this.
The beginning.
[A] He's [D] actually using his fingers on it.
We're going to use a pick
for this.
You can use your fingers if you [A] want.
[Db]
He's always doing little tricky things
with his chords, [Eb] Dave Grohl.
I like that.
First finger [E] 11 G and middle finger 12 E.
The way that this is picked, [A] the strings, [Ebm] is A [A] E D E A [Ab] D E.
So A D E [A] D.
Twice like that.
A D E D A D E D.
[E] Another thing I would do [A] is I would pick up down up down for the pattern.
[E] And then leave your middle [Am] finger there and drop your third finger underneath of that
[E] on 12 A [A] and do the same strings that you just did.
A E D E.
[E]
And that's twice through.
So
if you play it all [A] together it would sound like this.
[Am] So that's one of the [C] parts.
I think
I'll go ahead and show you [B] one of the other parts as well because that was pretty quick
there.
But it's a fun cool thing to play here.
So on this it's based out of C major.
Middle
finger 3 A.
First finger 2 [C] D.
A D G.
Or A D A G.
I'm sorry.
And then D A D.
So that's
it.
Then do the same exact thing [B] but move instead of a C chord it's a G.
So move the
middle finger to [F] 3 E.
First finger to 2 A.
Take your pick.
Go up and do the same pick
pattern but start on the [G] E string now.
So you [C] have together it's [G]
[B] E A E [E] D [G] A E A.
[Db] Then
[D] go to middle finger 5 A and first finger 4 D.
And same picking but start on the A string.
A D A G D A D.
[A] And then move that straight up.
So from a D to an A chord.
Middle finger
5 E.
First finger 4 A.
[G] And same pick pattern [A] starting on the E string now.
E [D] A E D A E
A.
So [C] that whole section goes.
[G] [D] [A]
[A] And that wraps it up guys.
Foo Fighters these days.
Standard
tuning.
