Hello, and that was a transcription I did of Kenny Loggins' [F#] song, Footloose,
that Nathan East [F] played bass on.
And you can find that transcription when you sign up for an intermediate bass lesson plan at musento.com.
So, Footloose, it's a [G#] fun song to play, there's some good looks [B] in there.
The [N] challenging thing for me on this one was using a pick.
I don't use a pick very often, so I actually had to practice transferring the pick into my palm so that I could use my fingers.
[F#] It took a little bit of time for me to work on.
And speaking of time to work on, I'd like to show [F] you really quick right now how I practice this in my program called Musento.
Okay, and here we are inside of Musento in the main dashboard.
And I can see here under Recent Lessons Practiced, I have Footloose.
And I just created a new lesson and called it Footloose and put it in the subject of Learning Songs.
And once it's there, then I can track it and I can keep coming back to it on a regular basis.
And you can see here I've got my [F#] PDF in there.
This is where I can track the time and I've got my metronome and my notes when I need it.
And what else I really like is that I can go back and see how long I've actually been working on something by looking at the history.
And I can see here that over four days, it took me almost five hours to transcribe and learn that song.
So I find it's a good practice tool and a [N] motivator as well.
Okay, back to the lesson.
And right now I'm just going to show you a couple of the parts in the song that I really like and that took a little bit of work.
This is going to be the second chorus [G#] and we're going to play this at 130 beats per minute.
[A]
[Am] [A]
[D] [C]
[E] [F#m] [Am]
[B] So we're going to take it here at measure 62 [D] and this will be all the way out to the end.
And again, we're at 130 beats per minute.
