A couple years ago I tried to write a romantic song about Alberta and Saskatchewan.
And it's hard to get [A] romantic about [N] Saskatchewan.
So what I did was I kind of combined a sort of a winter weather report and a love song all in one.
Because that's the one thing that you take into consideration when you go stepping out there.
Because if you get caught on the back road when it's 40 below, you're in a lot of trouble.
So the song ended up kind of a, as I say, long range [G] weather forecast.
It's called The Four Strong Winds.
If you feel like singing [C]
on the chorus, you may do.
We'd be very glad to have you.
Bobby Bear's version allowed too.

[D] [G]
[C] [Em]
[D] Four [G] strong winds [Am] that blow lonely
[D] Seven seas that run high
All those things that [Am] don't change
Come [D] what may
[G] But our good times are [Am] all gone
And [D] I'm [G] bound for moving on
I'll [C] look for you [Em] if I'm ever back [D] this way
[G] Think I'll go out to [Am] Alberta
[D] Weather's good there [G] in the fall
I got some friends that [Am] I can go [D] in for
Still [G] I wish you'd [Am] change your mind
[D] If I'd ask [G] you one more time
[C] But we've been [Em] through that a hundred times [D] or more
Four [G] strong winds that [Am] blow lonely
[D] Seven seas that [G] run high
All those things that [Am] don't change
Come [D] what may
[G] But our good times [Am] are all gone
And [D] I'm bound for [G] moving on
[C] I'll look for you if [E] I'm ever back [D] this way
[G] If I get there before [C] the snow flies
[D] And if things are [G] going good
You could meet me [Am] if I sent you down [D] the fair
But [G] by then it will [Am] be winter
There [D] ain't too much [G] for you to do
[C] And those winds sure can [Em] blow cold
Way [D] out there
[G] Four strong winds
[Am] [D] Seven [G] seas that run high
All those things that [Am] don't change
Come [D] what may
[G] But our good times are all [N] gone
