[Eb] [B] Well, we had [G] a heck of a trip.
We had a heck of a trip down here.
We left the 26th of December,
the day after Christmas.
[D] Justine flew in from Vancouver.
[Abm] We had a new bus.
Did you see anybody
see our new [Gb] bus?
Oh, man!
It's an [Eb] older bus, but it's new to us.
And it's a fantastic bus.
It's red and black.
We put a ramp [N] on it, easier to load.
We've got a wheel on it so we can
pump grease into it.
Fantastic.
We left the 26th of December in a huge snowstorm about
8 o'clock at night.
We had a [G] good thing to follow, a [Abm] snow plow for a while, but then
he turned off and we had a plow for a [N] while.
We plowed out for about an hour and a half
and got to London, [G] Ontario, started to ease up.
And then [D] just outside of Windsor, we had
a small bus fire.
Fortunately, it was one of those bus [Ebm] fires that put themselves out
so they [N] didn't pay much attention to it.
And it's true, though.
We're all on rails.
It's not like we're on fire.
I think we were on fire.
We did that for about an hour, and
then we weren't, oh, we're not on fire anymore.
That's good.
Everything was working still,
so I figured it was just a minor fire.
[E] And we stayed in Ann Harbor that night, and then
we went to
There's a guy over here who won't shut the fuck up.
[N] Try to only talk
during the songs, okay, Sid?
It's hard now, isn't it?
Does anybody think anybody talked
all the way through Jimmy Hendrix's Woodstock?
You're a big fucking crook.
You should see
what they say.
I'm just kidding.
We went to Illinois, played a little show, the 27th
in Illinois.
Fantastic little show, 100 people just after Christmas, and a little nice little
hall, and they had a bunch of roots there for me to pump into the truck, and it was
too close, and the grease wouldn't pump.
Can't tell you where we stayed that night, but it
was better than all the other West Coast.
[Abm] Then another nine-hour drive to Fayetteville,
[N] Illinois.
Hey, we had a good show there in an art gallery.
Arkansas.
Fayetteville, Arkansas.
I know there's a lot of you aren't really remembering a lot of shit we all did either.
The giggle just hasn't kicked in.
Drove to Fayetteville, Arkansas, played in an art gallery
there.
It was pretty good for a hippie friend of ours.
He was road [Db] killed, but he had actual
[Ab] kill in this time, [F] which is nice.
[D] [G] And then we drove up to [Gb] Illinois.
The girls got into
[G] the white wine and the champagne there, and I remember those girls [N] were making a lot of
sense back there.
We drove through the night and stopped at several Walmarts trying to
get more champagne, but the drive can't beat it.
Tried to drive into the warm because it
had been cold all the way, and finally got up at four o'clock in the morning, and I got
this little motel in the middle of nowhere in Texas called The Stay, and they didn't
mean it because they kicked our ass pretty early [Ab] in the morning.
[N] I went down to Wake
Hill and started to warm up, and then down to Columbus.
Got to Columbus, we got up the
next day, we were going to have a New Year's show in Shew and Bird, Texas.
New Year's
show, but we got up at about two o'clock, and I went out to work on the bus, and I had
another fire, more severe fire.
All the man on there just smoked billowing out of things,
and I watched that one for a while.
I set the key off, but fortunately it was another
fire that put itself out.
Obviously, it's a bus [G] with good karma.
And we went up to Shew
and Bird that night.
We had a [D] great, great New Year's Eve party in Shew and Bird for
us.
I [Db] didn't even tell you we were going to be entertaining [N] next year, so I had a great
time, and we got up the next day and drove to Louisiana on a five-hour drive, and then
another nine [G] hours, no, 15 hours, and here we are, and we sure are glad to be here, and
I thank you.
[D]
[G]
[D] Well, there's no water right, [Am] 18 wheels, I [C] forget to walk, [G] 56 tons, rain, [D] alcohol, [Am] danger
of death, I'm [C] trying to be strong, [G] but my will is strong, my [D] will is strong, [G]
[C] [G]
