It feels crazy to be [Am] back at the Orpheum Theatre to perform a Story anniversary concert, [Bm] since
this is where we filmed the video for it.
Everything about it just [Cm] feels like synchronicity, unplanned.
[G] The Story [Em] album itself, it was coming up in [Am] its 10 year anniversary, and we felt that
we wanted to [C] partner with a refugee [D] organization.
[B] When my daughter [Am] Evangeline was born, I was having a really difficult [B] time reconciling
the fact that she was born into relative [Eb] security and safety, and knowing that [B] there were parents
all [B] around the world whose children weren't born into the same security.
My wife mentioned an organization called War Child.
[E] I suggested War Child because [Abm] I'd worked with them back in the UK, so they [B] have a depth
of experience, [E] and they seemed to target immediate need.
On [B] the front of their website, it said the [A] Story campaign, and we thought that that was
just too much of a sign to ignore, [Cm] so we called them and asked them if we could give the Story
[B] to them, and they agreed to align with us.
My face, tell you the [Gb] story.
And I think if somebody would have said to us that in 10 [Bb] years the record we were making
was going to be used to [B] help kids in warfare regions, it would be impossible to believe that.
[E] We managed to do it by basically funding the entire [Ab] project through the Looking [B] Out Foundation,
the album launching that every single penny [Gb] was going to go to War Child.
[Abm] So every tour, Catherine puts out a [E] list of cities that she needs volunteers at.
She likes to man the local booths with people from the area.
[B] We're fan [Ab]-fueled.
One dollar of every concert [Eb] ticket goes to the Looking Out Foundation.
I love that it's [E] grassroots, it's involved within the community, and it's sustainable.
It kind of [B] connects the people that love branding and takes it to a whole [Gb] new level.
[C] [G]
[D] [Em]
[Bm] [C] [G]
[C] [Am] [B] The whole time it's been [F] a complete honor to have correspondence and to have the level of belief
that we've been able to achieve from the artists [B] and the activists on this album.
[Dbm] It's just the very least we can [Gb] do is reach out to these children [B] and families who have been affected.
[Abm] I have a new kind of [Gb] confidence and understanding of how rare and what an unbelievable [Eb] blessing it is,
and I'll never take it for granted, not today or any [Gb] day.
