[A] [D] [Dm]
[Em]
[Dm]
[Em] My name is [C] George Benson [E]
and of course this is an [F] Ibanez guitar, [Em] but it's something new
[Cm] It's something that's been in my mind for quite a while [F] as you know I've [Bbm] always
[G] dibbled and dabbled in
designs and
Anything that had to do with guitars always been of interest to me and one day I had the [D] idea
Why [Em] not go back [A]
to [Dm] the beginning?
The first [Em] guitars that I [C] came in contact [E] with that were electric
Were electric [G] f-hole full-body guitars such as the one you're [F] looking at here
And we were nitpicking and [Eb] trying to give the [Em] best guitar that we could for today's
[G] player
[F]
[G] [Am]
[Em] Let's talk about this particular [F] one a
[Em] full-size f-hole
Electric guitar [C] as you notice this is a what we call a [Em] Florentine cutaway, [Am] and it was popular
[C] In the early [Em] days of jazz I was trying to bring that [Am] back because it has such a great feel
[E]
It never gets in the way.
It's really comfortable now this being a prototype the first of its kind
We [Em] had a little thick binding here on the end of the Florentine
The one that will be introduced to the public will [D] not have that
This [G] thick ivory here [C] we flattened out the fingerboard a bit for guys who like to play at lightning [Bm] speeds
[Eb] And I guess I'm I'm guilty of that too trying [Bb] to play at lightning speeds
[G] This is fast becoming my favorite instrument to play on the road
I've done a couple of gigs with it now, and I am very very pleased at what happens
[Am] We had an extra [G] thing that happened
When we built this guitar something [Am] that we hadn't [G] expected
But [Em] the clarity and the separation [F] of notes is quite amazing
[G] And of course we've added [Bbm] you know it has some bell tones [F] because of the way the guitars made [Ab] it has a nice little belly
And it's not too [B] overdone
[Gb] [Fm] [B]
[C] [G] [Ab]
[G] [Bb]
[B] [C]
Easy to play you got to get you one [Bbm] of these
[F] You want to be in the party?
[Em] Get you an LGB
[Am]
That [D] means a little Georgie Benson
[Em] It's just a little quirk something that [F] I made up
[C] But it reminds me of some good times in my life, and it reminds me of the long road
We came [Am]
since little Georgie Benson first picked up the guitar at nine years [A] old
[C] I'm very proud of this instrument
[G] And I hope that you will have the same kind of fun that I have every time I pick it up
I'm not selling it to you what I'm trying to do to get you to understand that this guitar was made
for persons who are [B] in today's world
We designed it specifically for [Bm] people like you [Em] and myself
So I hope you enjoy [Eb] it
[Bb] [Db] [F]
[C] [B] [D]
[Gb] [Fm] [B]
[C] [Ab]
