Anyway, let's get right into the lesson.
Hello guys, this is [N] Amos Dull Music and in today's lesson, I'm going to teach you
how to play Green Green Grass by George Ezra on the piano.
I'll give you a preview before we start learning it.
It's a pretty catchy [Ab] song, check it out.
_ _ _ _ [Db] _ _ [Ab] _
_ _ _ [Ab] _ _ [Eb] _ _ [Ab] _
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ [Db] _ _ _ [Eb] _ _ [Ab] _ _
_ Alright, let's get right into it.
Melody and chords, that's the foundation and afterwards [Abm] you can add your own improvisations
and decoration patterns to make your own version.
Let's get right into it.
So [C] right hand for the first part, right hand starts on the A flat, middle C, C out, go
up to the A flat, [Db] to A flat, A flat, F, A flat, [G] B [C] flat, C, C.
That's it for the first
[Fm] part for the right hand.
Let's learn it once again.
So it goes A flat, A flat, F, A flat, [Bb] B flat, [Ab] C, C.
That's it for the right hand.
On the left hand we have four chords here.
It's A flat major, which is A flat, C, E flat.
Second chord is D flat [Db] major, which is D flat, F, A flat.
And third chord [Eb] is E flat major, which is E flat, G, B flat.
And fourth chord back [Ab] to A flat major for the first chord.
Okay?
Yeah.
First and fourth chord the same chord.
Okay, so let's learn it again.
So the four chords are A flat major, B flat major, E flat major, and A flat major.
With that in mind, the two ends together goes like this.
A flat and A flat together.
[Fm] _ E flat and D flat major [Db] together.
C and E flat [Cm] major together.
_ Last in A [Ab] flat major together. _ _
_ Three chords with three notes in the end.
Okay?
So, get out, [Fm] _ get [Ab] out, get out, get out.
Like that.
Okay?
The chords change pretty quickly, so if you're [Db] just starting [Eb] to learn the [Ab] chords, you might
have to like practice slowly, then build up the speed there.
Alright?
But anyways, moving on to the second part, right hand continues.
It goes A flat, D flat, D flat, [Eb] E flat, E flat, E flat, [Ab] E flat, C, A flat.
That's it [Db] for the second part.
A flat, D flat, D [Ab] flat, E flat, E flat, E flat, E flat, C, A flat.
Okay?
That's it, we have two chords, D flat [Db] major, D flat, F, A flat, [Ab] and then A flat major,
A flat.
So with these two chords in mind, D flat major and A flat major, the two ends together goes like this.
Right hand starts, E flat and D flat [Db] major together.
_ After E flat, A flat major [Ab] by itself.
_ Like that.
Let's learn it again.
It goes together.
_ [Ab] _
_ _ Alright, back to back to two parts we've learned so far, we play like this.
_ [Fm] _ _ _ [Db] _ _ [Ab] _ _
[Db] _ _ [Ab] _ _ Alright, moving on to the third and last part.
Right hand [Gb] continues, B flat, B flat, [Ab] A flat, A flat.
Okay?
[Bb] Just four notes.
B flat, [Ab] B flat, A flat, A flat.
Right hand, left [Eb] hand, the two chords are E flat major, which is E flat, G, B flat,
and the second chord is A flat [Ab] major, A flat, C, E flat.
With these two [Eb] chords in mind, E flat [Ab] major and A flat major, the two ends together goes
like this, B flat and E [Eb] flat major together.
_ [Ab] After A flat, A flat major by itself.
Like that.
So it goes together. _ _
Alright, so back to back, all three parts of this lesson we'll be playing like this.
_ [Fm] _
_ _ _ [Eb] _ _ _ _ [Db] _
_ [Ab] _ _ _ [Ab] _ Great. _
[Fm] _ _ _ [Db] _ _ [Ab] _ _ _
[Db] _ _ _ _ [Eb] _ [Ab] _ Alright, so once you get the melody and chords of this all good, you can start to add your
own improvisations and decoration patterns.
For example, left hand you can do like octave bass arpeggios, rhythmic patterns, _ _ [Db] _ _ _ [Ab] _ _ _
that kind of thing.
Right hand you [C] can harmonize it on the chords to make it thicker in texture, [Ab] so play around. _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ [Ab] _ [Eb] _ _ [Ab] _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ [Db] _ _ [Ab] _ [Eb] _ _ _ _
_ _ Yeah, play around, very fun and playful theme to play.
Okay, so anyway, hope you enjoyed this lesson.
