Thanks for being here, this is Girl in a Coma
Now you guys have a lot of street cred, but I want to get the dynamics of how long you guys have been together
And how long that street cred took
Now you two are sisters, here on the end, and you guys have been friends since junior high, is that correct?
Now, as you guys are growing up, you're listening to the Smiths, you're starting to write music
You know, I think the Smiths moved all of us as kids, and then you actually had the opportunity to go and open up for Morrissey
What do you say when you're faced with arguably one of the most important icons in music?
Thank you for having us on your tour Very nice
And you guys have gone on to play with so many other large acts
Now you guys have become a large act and are touring all around
You've got a new record out, tell us a little bit about it
We recorded it in Austin, here in Austin Woo!
In Austin, [E] with Mike McCarthy
We did it different than we usually do, we did an analog, [N] it was on tape
And we did it in a matter of like a month
And it was a, really a lot was going on with us personally during that album
And I think you can hear it in between each song, our sorrows, we're very depressed
So that's an interesting way to go about it
Nowadays everything has moved to digital, everything is kind of layered on top of everything
You guys actually had to play all of these live as you were recording to tape
That's obviously a much more raw sound, how does that differ from some of the digital recordings that you've done?
Well we weren't as picky I think, I think it was really natural
So whatever was raw and it just came out, we knew with digital that we could just do it again
With this we're like, oh no it's real, it's fresh, it's there
So we just kept it with that, we didn't have time to be picky
Now you're about to go back on tour, where can people find out about some of the shows that you're going to be playing
And where can they find this new album?
Well you can go to girlinacoma.com, we have all our links there, all our social media stuff
So that's the best place to go
And who are you guys touring with right now?
We're on a small break but we're going to be doing some shows with Alkaline Trio
And then we're going to be on tour with Minus a Bear this fall
And then circling back to close all the gaps
Now I know that with my brother and I, anytime we're working together
We know each other so well, you guys have been friends for so long
You know each other so well that sometimes you're just able to instantly just pick on some of their insecurities
Do you guys have that or are you guys still able to act as a close knit group?
Oh no we have that, I think it makes us even closer that we do that
You know we fight and then we make out later Perfect Rumors Sisters Sister kisses
It's going to be on the internet
Alright, well this is Girl in a Coma, thank you guys so much for being here
