This song is called I Want My Life To Make More Sense To Me.
[A]
[N] My band, The Frames, when we were, myself and Joe and Cullum are members of The Frames
and when we were asked by our record company a few years ago to write a single for them,
we took to piss and we wrote this song, which was kind of a joke and it was all about how
everything felt wrong and that they were a bunch of fuckers and, you know, typically
young complaining about our situation but actually, ironically, it was the catchiest
thing we wrote at the time.
And typically they were like, that's a single!
Funnily enough.
So anyway, it doesn't sound like it right now because it's just me and an electric guitar
but imagine loads of tambourines and Phil Spector-ism.
[A] [E] [A]
[E] [A] This situation's [E] killing me [A] It's got me right under [E] the thumb
[A] I don't know [E] where I wanna be [A] Well this doesn't make no sense [E] at all
[A] You're quoting every [Abm] single line [A] I said too much [Dbm] that I was [Eb] old
Before my [A] time you told me [E] You see I want my [B] life to make more sense
I [A] want my life [B] to make [E] amends I [A] want my life [E] to make more sense than these
[A] [E] [A]
[E] [A] This road is crooked, [E] crocked and wrong [A] They got the odds [E] stacked nice and high
[A]
I don't know [E] how they get along [A] Well me see I [E]
internalize
[A] And you talk about [Ab] us every day [A] But you keep [Ab] forgetting what it was
You came [A] to say now don't you You [E] see I want my [E] life to make more sense
I want my life to make amends I want my life to make more [Dbm] sense
You got it, the [A] feeling I've had it, [E] I'm leaving
These hours [B] I've wasted have worked out [Db] Vindictive, the knowing, [A] the feeling
The lack of [E] receiving You know it, you [B] got it, you got it
[E] You see I want my life to make [B] more sense I want my life to make [A] more sense to me
[A]
[B]
[A] [Eb]
[A]
[B]
So [A]
[B] [E] let me take you by the hand [Am] And get you through [E] this troubled night
[A]
You said yourself you [E] had a plan To get us all back to the light
[A] And you talk about us [Ab] every [A] day But you keep [Abm] forgetting what it was
You came [A] to say now don't you [E] You see I want my life to make more sense
I want my life to make amends I want my life to make more sense to me
My life to make amends I want my life to [B] make more sense [E] to me
