Glen Phillips Fred Meyer chords
Start Jamming...
[Dm] For some [G] reason I haven't been too obsessed with the whole 2012 [D] thing.
I pretty much figure
we're going to [C] be okay, despite all the volcanic eruptions [Bm] and worldwide earthquakes, [Gm] which
if I were an [C] End Times person I would be really, really freaked out [G] by.
But as it [Gb] is, I was
more of a Y2K person.
I like the [Fm] technological [C] attitude of that particular doomsday device.
I [G] [C] kind of half-way bought it.
I was a little bit nervous on that turn of the century.
Don't
you love that we've all lived through the turn of the century?
And the innovations of
today, the iPhone is going to be one of those turn of the century devices.
It was quite
[G] a little thing.
[Bb] But [C] I like to think that at some point our [E] infrastructure [Fm] will, like one
little weakest [D] link in the chain of our infrastructure, will fail and it will cause this wonderful
[Ebm] kind of chain reaction catastrophe that [C] will reduce us all to living as we did [E] in the late
1800s.
[Fm] And we will have these, I figure we'll go from kind of after the main riots [F] and epidemics,
we'll move from the city centers into the easily [D] defensible strip malls on the outside
of [G] the town.
And we'll [Fm] have in the big box stores, we'll [Bb] have good community housing,
kind of group, you know, tribal housing.
And I'm going to find my way up to a store in
the northwest called Fred [G] Meyers.
[D] Anyway, [Am] this is just instructions to my [Bb] house after
the crash, [G] basically.
[D]
I haven't played it for a while.
I want to [A] see you sometime.
If
I can find me I'll be home.
[G] Just between [D] Costco and [A] Barnes and Noble.
Behind [Dm] the Monopop
grocery, shut down in the 90s.
Like all the [D] other locals, they smashed the dreams of the
old folks.
Getting off track, sorry.
So back center right in there was Frederick Meyers.
Sold everything from fruit to tires.
Chicken with the doorman.
An old biker named Slim.
[Gm] So you're here to see [D] me.
Don't [A] forget to tip in.
[C] One [G] hand must wash the [D] other.
Each
[A] man must be a brother.
[D] Band up [G] and take cover.
We'll come dancing, [D] set fire, [A] tag building,
size tire.
[G] Drive go [D]-karts like Scherner.
Just hang out at Frederick Meyers.
[A]
[D] Bring a lantern
with you.
It gets dark in places.
Walk up the escalator to [A] the section that was kids
wear.
[D] Make a back walk left side.
[A] Under the signs say Levi's.
Top of [D] second row.
If I'm
not in right then I found somebody to help.
Cause [A] everybody knows each other now.
[C] One
[G] hand must wash the [D] other.
Each man must [A] be a brother.
[Bb] Band [G] up and take cover.
We'll come
dancing, [D] set fire, [A] tag building, size tire.
[G] Drive [D] go-karts like Scherner.
[A] Just hang out
at Frederick Meyers.
[G] Go out there, take more than, [A] go looting, go hoarding, [Gm] [D] whatever you
desire.
We [A] just made my bed at Frederick [G] Meyers.
[D]
[C] One hand must wash the other.
[A] Each man must
be a brother.
[Fm] Band up and take [G] cover.
We'll come [D] dancing, set fire, [A] tag building, size
tire.
You'll see [D] kids like Scherner.
[A] Just hang out at Frederick [G] Meyers.
Go out [D] there,
take more than, [A] go looting, go hoarding, whatever you desire.
[D] [A] We just made my bed at [G] Frederick
Meyers.
[D] We just [A] made my bed at Frederick Meyers.
