Hey guitar friends, my name is Robbie Trujillo.
Thank you for being here and learning with me today today
I'm going to show you how to play going going gone by Luke cones
We're gonna tune the guitar down one half step for this one.
So let's get tuned down and [F#] get this one learned
[G#]
[C] Tuning down the guitar one half steps your strings should be tuned [D#] to D sharp [G#] G sharp
C sharp [C#] [F#] F sharp [A#] a sharp and
[D#] D sharp so get tuned down and the chords we're gonna play for this song are [F#] G
We're also gonna stay in this G position, but we're not gonna play the sixth string
We're gonna play the fifth string as the bass note here
So just playing the fifth through the first strings, then we'll play C add [B] 9
[F#] [C#] play D and
[A#m] E minor 7
[F#] So for the E minor 7 the C add 9 and the G you can leave
Your third and fourth fingers down here on the third fret on the first and second strings
We're gonna start out on the G chord for our intro first
I'll show you how you can strum it then I'll show you how to do the picking for the intro if you'd like to
Do that so you can start on the G chord down down up down down up
Then we'll go fifth fret bass note here same G position, but we're not playing the sixth string down down up down
Down up then [B] C add 9 down down up down down up then D [C#] chord down
down up down
[B] [C#] [F#] Now let's learn how to do this cool picking
So we're starting out on the G chord.
We're gonna go sixth string
Then second string in this second string.
I'm gonna pick with my [A#] third finger
Then we'll go fourth [C#] string which is open and then third [F#] string which is open
Then we're gonna move up to the seventh fret [A#] do the same thing
[F#]
Then the eighth [B] fret six two four three
Then the tenth fret [C#] six two four [F#] three Three
So all we're doing is moving up the frets
Second finger stays on the sixth string third finger stays on the second string
[A#m]
That's our [B] intro.
Let's play through the first verse now.
We'll do this same picking for the first verse
Some [A#] things life for me [F#] fly
[A#] Others they were [B] born to run
[F#] Can't tie down up and [B] leave in like [F#] the changing of the seasons
Good things they come
At [B] the end of the verse you can just stop here on the eighth fret
[F#] Then we're gonna go into our chorus of down down up down down up strumming here for the chorus
Like a runaway southbound train
[B] Like an [C#] Arizona desert [F#] rain like lightning in the sky
Fireworks
[F#] Like a left field home run ball
Like a [C#] whiskey shot at [F#] last cause it's like she was made from moving on
That [C#] girl is both [F#] gone
This next verse we're gonna do the strumming just like we did for the chorus, so here's the second verse I
Can say it wasn't meant to be
[C#] [F#] They be meant to be
misunderstood
[C#] [F#]
And hold on the letting go
Change [C#] the way the river flows
[F#]
Loving hers like roping
I
Can run away southbound train play through the chorus again, and then we're gonna play our bridge
[C] So our bridge is gonna start out on the C add 9 [G#] chord.
We'll go C add 9 [C#] D
Then [A#m] we'll go e minor 7 [C#] and back to D for the bridge, so here's how that [B] sounds
She ain't got one bit a [C#] stick around
[A#m] No sense in trying to slow her [C#] down
[F#] And then for the final chorus you [A#m] can do the picking
[F#] For half the chorus and then go back into the strumming and we'll finish the song
Let's play through the full thing together now start with me here on the intro if you can do this picking
Do that with me if not just strum along here
[F#] [A#m]
[C#] Some things in life are meant to fly
[F#] Others [A#] they were born to run
[F#] Can't tie [A#m] down up and leaving [B]
like the [F#] changing of the season
Good things [A#m] come to them
[F#] I can run away southbound train
I can [C#] bears on a [F#] desert rain like lightning in the sky
[C#] Fireworks
[F#] Left field home run ball
[C#] Whiskey shot last [F#] call like she was made from
That [C#] girl is going going.
[F#]
I can say it was meant [D#m] to be
[C#] [F#] Maybe meant to be
misunderstood
[C#] [F#] And hold on to let him go
Change [C#] the way the river flows
[F#] Loving hers like roping
I [C#] [F#] can run away southbound train
I [C#] can Arizona [F#] desert rain like lightning in the [D#m] sky
[C#] fireworks in [F#] July
Like left field home run ball
Like [C#] whiskey shot [F#] last call like she was made
That [C#] girl is going
[F#]
[C#] [D#m] Ain't got one day [C#] to stick around
[A#m] No sense in trying slow her [C#] down
[F#] I can [A#m] run away southbound [B] train
Like [C#] an Arizona [F#] desert rain like [A#m] lightning in the [B] sky
like [C#] fireworks in July
Like left field home run [D#m] ball
Like a [C#] whiskey shot [F#] last call like she was made from
Going [C#] [F#] going going going going going going

[F#]
I can say it was meant [D#m] to be
[C#] [F#] Maybe meant to be

[C#] [F#] And hold on to let him go
Change [C#] the way the river flows
[F#] Loving hers like roping
I [C#] [F#] can run away southbound train
I [C#] can Arizona [F#] desert rain like lightning in the [D#m] sky
[C#] fireworks in [F#] July
Like left field home run ball
Like [C#] whiskey shot [F#] last call like she was made
That [C#] girl is going
[F#]
[C#] [D#m] Ain't got one day [C#] to stick around
[A#m] No sense in trying slow her [C#] down
[F#] I can [A#m] run away southbound [B] train
Like [C#] an Arizona [F#] desert rain like [A#m] lightning in the [B] sky
like [C#] fireworks in July
