Now we're gonna
start off by learning four basic chords which I'll be playing below middle C
starting with C E and G C major _ [C] followed up one position for D major
which consists [D] of D F sharp and A _ D major and then up one more position for
E [E] minor which consists of E [Em] G and B E minor so again [C] that's C major _ [D] D major
and E minor _ _ _ _ [G] and for our last chord which is G major all we're gonna do is
play G and B together with our middle finger and our pinky like so _ _ _ so it's
almost like an E minor chord just lifting up that thumb and playing those
two notes only _ and for the left hand we'll just play G with our thumb like so
at the same time _ _ G major _ that way our G major chord is right next to our other
chord and there's no need for making any big jumps _ _
_ [C] _ _ _ [G] _ _ _ _
_ _ _ moving on to our left hand
which will place in C position for the entire song which means our pinky will
rest on C and our thumb on G _ _ so hands together each of those chords will look
[C] like C major [D] D major [Em] E minor and [G] G major all _ _ _ right now let's take a look at our
chord progression for verse 1 which is exactly the same for all the other
verses _ starting with G major for four counts then C major for two counts then
back to G major for four counts then E minor for two counts then C major for
two counts then D major for four counts then back to E minor and C major for two
counts then G major and D major for only one count each then E minor C major and
D major for two counts and then lastly G major for four counts _ let's try that
with just the right hand nice and slow ready _ G _ 2 3 4 [C] C _ 2 [Em] G 2 _ 3 4 E minor 2 _ C 2
[D] D 2 _ 3 4 E minor _ 2 [C] C 2 _ [G]
G [D] E _ [Em] _ 2 _
[C] C 2 [D] D _ 2 [G] G 2 3 _ 4 _ _ _ _ all right now let's try that hands
together and for rhythm what we'll do is play both those hands together on the
first beat of each chord and then repeat the right hand on each count of
that chord you can also alternate between the right and the left hand for
some added momentum and if you'd like to hear what that sounds like make sure to
click the video in the description box below for part 2 of the play along video
so you can hear how that sounds and feel free to play along with me _ all right now
let's try that hands together starting from the beginning of our verse with G
major for four counts ready _ _ G 2 _ 3 4 [C] C 2 [Em] G _ 2 3 4 E minor 2 [C] C _ 2 [D] D 2 3 4 [Em] E 2 [C] C _ 2 G
[D] D [Em] 2 _ _ _ [C] C 2 [D] D 2 _ [G] G 2 3 4 _ _ _ _ _ [F] all right moving on to the chorus which starts with C major
for four counts then G major for four counts then back to C for four counts
then G major for only two counts then D major for two counts then C major for
four counts then G and D for only one count then E minor for two counts C
major for two counts D major for two counts and lastly G major for four
counts or eight counts however you like _ now let's try that hands together nice
and slow from the beginning of the chorus with C major for four counts
ready _ _ [C] C 2 3 _ 4 [G] G 2 3 4 [C] C 2 3 4 [Em] G _ 2 _ [D] _ 2 [C] C 2 _ 3 4 [G] G [D] D [Em] E 2 [C] C _ 2 [D] D 2
[G] 3 _ _ 4 _ _ all _ _ _ right moving on to our bridge we have G major for two counts then C
major for two counts then D major for two counts and then back to G major for
two counts and that repeats then we have G major C major D major again for two
counts but then we have an E minor chord for two counts then E minor again for
another two counts and then we have C major and D major for two counts and end
with G major for four counts let's try that with hands together from the
beginning of the bridge ready _ _ _ G 2 [C] C _ 2 [D] D 2 [G] G 2 again G _ 2 [C] C _ 2 [D] D 2 [G] G 2 G _ 2 [C] C 2 [D] D 2
[Em] E minor 2 E minor 2 [C] C 2 [D] D 2 [G] G 2 3 4 _ _ _ _ _ _ and that's it guys if [C] you'd like to hear
those chords with vocals click the video in the description box below for part 2
of this video and feel free to play along with [C] me _ _ _
