Goodtime Banjos - "Why Play Banjo?" chords
Start Jamming...
[G]
I always ask my banjo students on their very first lesson, I say, why the [C] banjo?
Always say the [Bm] same thing, we just say, there's something about the sound.
[Gm]
[E] [G] [C]
[A] [Em] The [G] banjo has sort of an intrigue to me because I love the sound of the banjo, the type of
music that's played.
And I think for anybody that's been drawn to the banjo, [Bb] it's something [G] you really can't
explain about the sound.
[C] I love the sound of the banjo, it makes me [G] smile.
It's fun, the chord structures are simple.
I like playing the banjo, I just think it's exciting.
I think it's a [C] lot of fun.
I'm usually happy, [G] I don't know, it's just so natural.
It's fun to play around with it and play it for hours and not get bored.
I like the way that it [Cm] projects through.
I was originally a guitar player and I started playing [B] banjo because it was [G] louder.
It's just tuned in [Bm] 1-3-5s basically, like a [D] regular chord.
You can just bar across [E] and it was the easiest thing to learn [G] left hand wise.
It's pretty easy because I've [Bm] learned guitar, I'm a rhythm guitar player and I do picking
[D] so it's pretty easy to translate it.
I've heard from a lot of people [G] that it's difficult to play the banjo, but it's really not.
I was able to realize that this was [C] an instrument for me that I could [G] play and I could play quick.
I really love this for my position because it's effortless to play.
[G] I don't deal with problems with it.
The chord structures are easy, it's [D] easy to pick it.
I've done some of [Bm] my [A] little finger picks and stuff [Em] too and it's really easy to pick up.
Anybody can learn how [G] to play the banjo.
It's not difficult, [D] it's not [G] hard, it's just a matter of what you try to play.
You don't have to play difficult music on the banjo to enjoy it.
Once you learn the very simple strum pattern of this instrument,
[D] it's all systems go.
Anybody can learn to play [E] a two chord song [G] chord.
You'll just want to learn more.
Just [Ab]
[C] strum it.
You [G] don't have to be afraid.
[A] [G]
