Hey
[C] guys, welcome back to another lesson.
We're going to continue the ideas of kind of quartet drives.
[E] So this week we're in the key of E, so let's go to E.
So that main drive, we're just moving from that E, [C#]
which is the one in this key, to the
two, which is F sharp minor.
So in that F sharp minor, [B] I'm keeping that B and E string open.
[C#] [F#m] [B]
[E]
Alright, so I'm starting with the walk up from the five.
[B] [C#] [D#]
[E] [A] So as we get to that one, [B] [Em] five, six, [D#] seven, [E] one, we go into this E shape.
Alright, so I'm going to do a little hammer on pull off.
[F#m]
[E] [F#]
[G] Alright, so I'm taking that [E] E shape and I'm hammering on with that pinky.
B string, E, [F#]
and now we're over the two.
[A] [C#m]
[E] Alright, so I take F sharp [A] minor, add the nine.
[F#m]
[E] [C#m]
[G#m] [F#m]
[C#m]
[B] [E]
[C#m]
[B]
[E] [C#]
[B] [E]
Alright, so that's the first section.
And so the second section, I'm walking up from that one.
So we have the one, each time we're going to keep that B and E string open.
Two, [A#] so the F sharp minor, [C#m]
[B] [E] half step to the three.
[F#] [E]
[C#] [E]
Now we're going to go to a dominant [A#] two, so dominant seven chord over the two.
So we're going to play an F sharp [F#] seven.
If you play it this way, you can keep that E open.
And then we're going to go [D#] to a seven chord for the five.
So that's a B [B] seven.
[C#] Well, I'm going to do a B [B] nine.
Again, [Em] you can play that high E.
[E] [C#m]
[E]
[F#]
[B]
[E]
And finally, you [D#] can just end it with just a basic quartet groove.
[B]
[C#m] [E] [N] So I broke that down in a previous video.
I'll put a link here so you guys can check that out if you need to get to it.
So that's the kind of quartet groove idea for the week.
