_ _ _ _ _ Hey _
[C] _ _ _ guys, welcome back to another lesson.
We're going to continue the ideas of kind of quartet drives.
[E] So this week we're in the key of E, so let's go to E. _ _ _
_ _ So that main drive, we're just moving from that E, _ _ _ _ _ _ [C#]
which is the one in this key, to the
two, which is F sharp minor.
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
So in that F sharp minor, [B] I'm keeping that B and E string open.
[C#] _ [F#m] _ _ _ [B] _
_ _ _ _ _ [E] _ _
Alright, so I'm starting with the walk up from the five. _
_ [B] _ _ _ [C#] _ _ [D#] _ _
_ [E] _ _ _ [A] _ _ So as we get to that one, [B] _ [Em] five, six, [D#] seven, [E] one, _ _ we go into this E shape. _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _ _
Alright, so I'm going to do a little hammer on pull off. _
_ _ _ _ _ _ [F#m] _ _
_ [E] _ _ _ _ [F#] _ _ _
[G] Alright, so I'm taking that [E] E shape _ _ _ and _ _ _ _ _ _ I'm hammering on with that pinky. _ _
_ B string, _ _ _ _ E, _ _ _ [F#] _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _ and now we're over the two.
[A] _ [C#m] _ _ _ _
_ _ _ [E] _ Alright, so I take F sharp [A] minor, _ _ add the nine.
_ _ _ _ _ [F#m] _ _ _
[E] _ _ _ [C#m] _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ [G#m] _ [F#m] _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ [C#m] _
_ [B] _ _ _ [E] _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ [C#m] _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ [B] _
_ _ [E] _ _ _ _ _ [C#] _
_ [B] _ _ [E] _ _ _ _ _
_ _ Alright, so that's the first section.
And so the second section, I'm walking up from that one.
_ So we have the one, each time we're going to keep that B and E string open. _ _ _ _
_ _ Two, [A#] so the F sharp minor, [C#m] _
_ _ _ _ [B] _ [E] half step _ _ _ _ _ to the three. _
_ _ _ _ _ [F#] _ [E] _ _
_ [C#] _ _ [E] _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ Now we're going to go to a dominant [A#] two, so dominant seven chord over the two.
So we're going to play an F sharp [F#] seven. _ _
_ _ _ If you play it this way, _ _ you can keep that E open. _
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
And then we're going to go [D#] to a seven chord for the five.
So that's a B [B] seven.
_ _ [C#] Well, I'm going to do a B [B] nine. _ _ _ _
Again, [Em] you can play that high E. _ _ _ _
[E] _ _ _ _ _ [C#m] _ _ _
_ [E] _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ [F#] _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ [B] _ _ _ _ _ _
_ [E] _ _ _ _ _ _ _
And finally, you [D#] can just end it with just a basic _ quartet groove.
_ [B] _ _ _ _
[C#m] _ _ _ [E] _ _ [N] _ So I broke that down in a previous video. _ _ _
I'll put a link here so you guys can check that out if you need to get to it.
So that's the kind of quartet groove idea for the week.
