Hi everybody, welcome to the video.
This is Corey from Gemini School of Guitar.
The lesson theme today is on Gothic or Dark Wave guitar [C#] sounds.
[E] [Em]
[A] [C]
[Em] [A] [Em]
[F#] Okay, basically as far as fingerings go, I'd probably just stick to [E] third finger.
[F] [E] The notes are on string 2.
The other note involved is a fret 13.
When I begin, I play hybrid picking style.
That means my pick plays the string 6, my middle plays the string 2.
After that I'm alternating between string 1 and 2 in a special pattern.
Very carefully.
[Em]
[C] [E]
[N] Okay, after this the general pattern remains the same.
The difference being this time I'm playing the open 4th string along with the 2nd string to begin with.
And the fretted notes will be changing.
We'll be [Em] using frets 10 and 12.
Remembering that we're on the 2nd string for all these [F#] fretted notes.
[E] [A#m] [E]
[A] [Em] [A] And again, [Em] the [A]
[C#] last step in the sequence, at least as far as the changes go, is a little trickier.
Now what you do here is [F#] I use middle, fret 8, 2nd string.
[A#] First, fret 8, string 6.
You can also [C#] use thumb.
[D#] But I'd say first is the better [F#m] option.
And [F#] the fretted notes are obviously 8 on the 2nd string.
This one here, but we've got to use the pinky.
[E] At [C]

[E] [A]
[E] I'll play the idea very slowly now in its completion.
