[B] My name is Grace Bowers and I just turned 17.
I'm originally from [Ab] Northern California.
I've been in Nashville for two years now [E] and today I'm back in California for the Crossroads Festival.
All of my favorite guitar players are here right now.
Santana, Joe Guadamasa, to even be like here at the same time as them is crazy.
Tomorrow I'm going to be playing on the Village Stage with my good friend Hannah Wickland.
We're going to play Ohio, Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young.

[A] [G] This is my 1961 SG that was gifted to me when I went to New York two years ago.
It's really [Bbm] special [C] to me.
It's got P90s on it.
Santana used the same exact guitar, I mean not obviously not the guitar, but the same
guitar for his Woodstock performance.
And it even has the same weird little bridge thing right here, which I actually don't have
strung up right now.
And everything's all original about it.
I haven't changed a thing since I got it.

I didn't grow up around [N] music.
I'm from California, a small town, so there was no one around to really like expose me
to that stuff.
And I don't know how it happened.
I heard B.B. King one day and I was like, wow, I didn't know you could even do that with guitar.
So yeah, he was 100% my biggest inspiration.
It may not sound like it, but almost everything has come from the blues.
That's the foundation of really almost all [Fm] music.
Blues was like the answer to [Em] what those people were feeling back then.
Some of the [Ab] original old Delta Blues guys like Mississippi John Hurt, T-Bone Walker,
blues was [Em] the answer for them.
And I think it's important to carry on that [E] legacy.
Huge honor right now to be playing on Robbie Robertson's personal last paw.

A few months ago in Nashville, there was [Bb] a shooting at a school nearby.
Actually, it was about 20 minutes from where I live.
The name of the school was Covenant.
[C] And three kids and three adults died as a result.
It kind of caused this huge uproar in Nashville.
How there wasn't really any action being taken.
And I wanted to do anything that I [G] could to help.
So I put together this benefit show with a bunch of local Nashville musicians.
[Bb] I sent Bush Walker a text message.
I was like, you want to play this show with me?
[C] And it was a yes right away.
We closed out the night with The Wait.
When we played that song, the whole room just kind of lifted up and
kind of brought everyone together.
Everyone knows that song.
Everyone was singing along [E] to it.
And it was a really cool moment.
