[N] [D]
[C]
[Eb] Bob and we were with the [C] music.
It is so much fun to have Grand [Ab] Funk Railroad back with us.
[A] All of us are walking around saying we feel like we're [C] 20 years younger just to hear this [Bb] music again.
Lead singer and guitarist Mark Farner [Ab] is with us.
Drummer Don Brewer.
Bassist Mel Schacher is here.
This must be so strange.
Why now?
Why do you come back together again now after what almost 20 years since you [A] did concerts?
It's [Ab] been a departure from the roots.
Back when Grand Funk first broke up in 76, we didn't want to bow our knees to the god of disco.
[Bb] So we just kind of bowed out.
And [D] then New [B] Wave, but then in the early 80s there was some rock and [Bb] roll came back into the scene.
And it always comes back to the roots and we're just dialing in on the root [G] fashion now.
But there must have been calls for you guys [Bm] to get together [Bb] again [Ebm] before this.
Yeah, a lot [Ab] of people have tried to get us [B] back together.
And it just didn't ever seem right until now.
The pieces [Bb] just seem to be coming together for this thing now.
And the Bosnian Relief Fund, the [B] effort that we're doing, these [Bb] charity concerts has kind [B] of helped bring the whole [A] thing up.
It [Bb] just [C] feels right right now to be doing this.
You're doing three [G] concerts across the country for Bosnia Relief, but this [Ab] is not just a one shot deal.
I mean you guys are back together again on [Bb] a For good.
For good.
That's right.
[C] We're going to go in and record [Ab] and we do some [Abm] concerts in Europe and [Bb] Japan in June I think it is.
Now when you, [Ab] I was listening to you rehearse, when you play the old [G] songs again, it's like sort of putting on an old coat, isn't it?
I mean it sounds just like, what would I [A] say, we're transported back 20 years.
It's a comfortable [Gbm] old coat.
Well you get the [C] old coat out of the closet and you [A] sort of pat the pockets and [B] find the old pieces of [A] paper you left there and whatever.
But it just [Eb] sounds like you just never stop doing it.
Well thank you.
That's the way it kind of [G] feels too.
It's like getting back on a bicycle and pedaling [C] down the street.
Now [B] you're doing these concerts, you told me during the commercial break, you're going to do this with a full orchestra, with violins?
32 piece orchestra.
[Gb] Boy you have gone.
[Eb] You guys have reached [C] middle age if you're playing with violins now.
[B] We've all gone left handed I think.
[C] Is it, how do [G] I say this, there was, you were known for sort of a [Dbm] wild lifestyle, [Gbm] fair to say?
How would you put it?
[Fm] No, no, no.
They were much wilder than us.
I think we were pretty tame compared to a lot of guys.
I think [Gb] so.
He never [Db] is.
[C] No.
I've [G] heard rumors.
But [Abm] you don't, I mean, would you?
No, no, I [C] don't know.
Well has, has.
[Bb] Well let's bring Spencer out.
[B] He can name names.
[D] But I [G] mean, have things moderated a little bit?
Is this a [E] kinder, gentler, quieter, calmer, more sedate?
Oh you're looking at me like I'm crazy.
No, we're not really.
[G] We're just more, we're [Bb] better at what we do because we practice all the time, but [Dm] we're still funky, we still [Bb] have the edge, we still have the soul for the music.
And [G] that's really what comes across in our live [E] performance.
And, you know, on stages where [G] we've made our contact, where we've made our niche in rock [Gb] and roll, it's been with the audience, participating with the people, because we're the people's band.
Well you brought me right back.
[A] You cleaned it [C] up and brought me right back.
An American band, right?
[G] That's right.
We're going to take a break.
Some kind [Ab] of wonderful after this commercial from [E] Grand Funk Railroad.
Stay with us.
[B] [C] Now more terrific music to help start off your weekend on the right foot.
Grand [G] Funk Railroad performs some kind of wonderful.
[D]
I don't need [Dm] a whole lot of [D] money.
[Gb] I don't need [D] a big fine car.
I got [Dm] everything that a man could want.
I got more than [D] I could ask for.
I [G]
don't have to run around.
I don't have to stay out all night.
I got [Dm] me a sweet, sweet loving woman.
And she knows just how to treat me right.
So [A] my baby, she's all right.
So [G] my baby, I clean out of sight.
Don't you know [Dm] that.
She's some [G] kind of wonderful.
Yes, she [Dm] is.
She's some [G] kind of wonderful.
You know that she [D] is.
She's some [G] kind of wonderful.
Yeah, [D] yeah, yeah, yeah.
Now when I hold her in my arms, you know she sets my soul on fire.
[Dm]
You know, my heart becomes filled with [D] desire.
And [G] when she has to love it all,
[D]
when my baby's kissing me, the chills run up and down my [G] spine.
Well, [Am] my baby, she's all right.
So [G] my baby, I clean out of sight.
[C] Don't you know [D] that.
She's some [G] kind of wonderful.
Yes, she [Dm] is.
She's some [G] kind of wonderful.
You know that she [Dm] is.
She's some [G] kind of wonderful.
Yeah, yeah, [Dm] yeah, yeah.
Come on, come on, come on.
[D] Hey!
Can I get a witness?
Can I [Bm] get a witness?
One more time.
One more time.
Can I [D] get a witness?
Can I [Bm] get a witness?
I'm talking, talking about [D] my baby.
Some [G] kind of wonderful.
Talking about my baby.
Some [D] kind of wonderful.
Talking about my baby.
Some [G] kind of wonderful.
[D]
