I don't think we could have picked a better spot to have this conversation
We're actually here in LA [N] on the Capitol Tower rooftop.
This is amazing and
What a great place to be singing praise songs and recording these it's just amazing and talk about this song a little bit
I feel like this is
You know, I want to compare anything [Ab] to 10,000 reasons but this song really kind of folds out like that
it's really [Db] a story and just and just kind of our faith and and
What it's gonna be like one day when we get to heaven and yeah
But talk about this and just the inspiration behind the song
I love that you pick up on the fact it's a story because we definitely wanted to have that sense in the song
I wrote this with Jonas Myron [Gb] and
It was just
This idea we're part of this grand song, [Bb] you know
I love that every time [G] we get up to lead worship or we get up [F] to sing together
We're not trying [D] to get something going actually joining in something that's already happening
This is endless [E] anthem this never-ending flow of praise and this epic song and we're just adding our voices to it
so hopefully the song conveys a little bit of that and you know, I want to bring my greatest [Ab] hallelujah to you and

We walk through a few scenarios in the song, but then [Ab] obviously we end up talking about heaven and one day
We'll be part [Ab] of that heavenly song that [N] anthem right before his throne and we'll see him face to face and
To me truth like that never gets old.
It's a good thing to sing and we got to record it here at Capitol Studios
Which was a huge treat.
We got old Nat King Cole's old 9-foot Steinway piano.
We got
Beatles Hammond organ and we and we got
You know gospel choir on it and I mean the whole thing
I love that gospel choir just it's it's in the background
and it just brings so much fullness and the voices and it really kind of gives a hint of this this this
Hallelujah one day where every tongue [G] and every race they're singing together.

Well walk us through what you're [G] playing chord wise your capo somewhere between yeah, you know seven and eight
You can never go too high with a capo
I [Eb] mean one day I might buy a mandolin because it basically the same job
but I kind of like it up here and it's easy, but the
It's very simple in the verses.

So that [Gm] that chord there's kind of real nice on a piano on a guitar I find it a bit too finger gymnastics

Yeah, but you know, they even the way I'm playing it's a little bit naughty
But you know, I never claimed to be a big guitar player and [Eb] and that's what keyboard players are for exactly
You know, just play it really quietly.

So, you know, it's pretty simple.
There's a slightly different chord in there chord progression there than what I might usually do
But the whole sense of this song was trying to make it epic yeah and make it sound like an anthem
[Bb] Yeah, and a song that crosses [G] into so many churches
I could hear you know
the the modern worshiping church [Ab] or the the hymnal church or the you know, the
African-american I could see this song just fits into so many
[G] Different scenarios.
