The first part of the song that [C#m] came to me [F#m] was in 2015.
[D] _ It was the,
[E] Let me draw out of the [C#m] wells of your ancient [F#m] living space,
Let the [B] eyes of my inner [E]
man_
_ _ _ And [C#] I remember where I was walking that day.
[F#m] I was [E] in Abuja, [D#m] just in [E] town,
_ [C#m] and I was just walking on [F#m] the [D] road,
and that came to me.
_ [D] And [E]
I didn't forget it.
And [C#m] that's how I know that it's the Holy [F#m] Spirit sometimes.
It just stays.
[D] It just does not [E] leave me.
_ [E] _ And that came.
And then sometime in _ 2019,
_ the beginning of the song came.
Holy [C#m] Spirit, you were welcome in this place,
[F#] and Holy Spirit of the Father, [D] you were welcome.
You were [E] the Lord of the heart of the Father,
[C#m] so reveal yourself [F#] as you [F#m] sing.
And that hit me.
I just [E] knew this song,
_ [C#m] and this melody, and these [F#m] lyrics,
align with this one,
and so this is it.
[E]
And for me, for as long as I thought [C#m] that was it,
[F#m] I just thought, okay, this song is complete.
[D] _ [F#m] But then one [F] of those times [E] in 2020,
I was praying, I was taking [F#m] a prayer walk,
and then the same progression [D] came to my spirit [E] again.
Because a lot of times it comes with a progression.
_ _ [F#m] _
_ _ [D] _ And _ _ [E]
the same progression came again,
and I was singing it, and then [F#]
this part just came.
_ [A] _ _ [E] _
_ Because I was just, I was deep in prayer, I was gone.
[C#m] And I like taking prayer walks.
[C#] _ Sometimes it's dangerous because I like [C] night [E] prayer walks.
_ _ _ So it just came.
[F#m] _
_ [C#] _ _ _ [A] _ _ _ [E] _
_ _ And that was a bit [F#m] weird,
_ _ _ [D] but there's quite a number [E]
of _ _ scriptural backing [A] for it. _
[F#m] _ _ _ [A] _ _ Because you're [E] the one who can see and judge right.
And you know, quite [Fm] a number of Christians will ask,
[E] does God kill and everything?
And I understand your questions,
_ _ [F#m]
because they are legit.
[E] _ But yes, God killed. _
_ _ _ [C#m] To say that God does [G#] not kill
is [C#] to _ _ deny _ [E] _
_ the [B] justice system of [G#m] heaven.
I [C#m] mean, _ _ [B] _ let's start from the elementary [C#m]
sides of things.
Scripture says that [D#] we should by the spirit
[D] _ _ _ _ _ [E]
mortify the works of the flesh.
So mortify [F#m] is to kill, right?
[D] In another [E] translation, they say you should kill the works of the flesh.
[C#] Paul says, I died daily, and he does it by [D] the spirit.
_ And so if he says by [E] the spirit,
_ [D#m] kill the works of the [E] flesh,
the [F#m] spirit kills.
That's one.
[D] Two, I _ [E]
don't want to [D#] go into all of [E] who killed this person, who did that.
[Bm] I just want [D] to give you scriptures [E] pertaining to the fact that God killed.
_ [F#m] _ So the question would be, who killed Jesus?
[E] And those are the only two things I'm going to ask.
Like, who killed Jesus?
[C#m] _ _ Think about [F#m] it.
[F] Was it the Roman soldiers?
[D] _ _ _ [F#m] Because if you read [E] _ Isaiah 53,
the Bible says, it [Dm] pleads God to [C#m] bruise him.
_ That's a very [E] profound part of scripture
[C#m] that is quite _ [F#m] mind-boggling.
_ [F#] But [E] God is not a psychopath.
_ _ _ [F] And to say that God [C#m] does not kill
is to say [F] that evil has no [D] power.
The third thing I'm going [E] to say is that
[C#m] sometimes when we hear killing, we hear murder.
_ [F#m] _
_ And it's [D] not the same thing. _ _
[E] _ _ _ _ Because killing [F#m] _
[C#] is not murder.
Murder is taking a [E] life that does not [C#m] belong to you.
[F#]
That's what murder [F] is.
Taking another human's [E] life that does not belong to you.
And it is not on a legitimate [D#] basis like [F#m] justice.
You are not authorized [D] to do it.
Because [E] when soldiers, you know,
when _ _ [F#m] they used to be capital punishment,
[E] death by hanging and firing squad and everything,
when those guys were doing those things,
they weren't [D#m] committing murder.
They were [E] killing, nonetheless, [Em] but they weren't committing murder.
So, you know, a gun in the [E] hands of a policeman _ is _ [F#m] _ _ [D] important.
_ [E] As opposed to a gun in the hands of a thief.
[F] _ _ [F#m] _
_ _ _ [D] So, [F#] killing is not murder [E] for God.
_ [C#m] To murder _ [F#] is to take a life [E] that doesn't belong to [D] you.
But to kill with God,
[E] _
_ take back the life he [F#m] gave to you.
I mean, everything is going to return to God [A] in the end.
So, whether [E]
it happened to the person at 22 or 98,
[F#m] _
it's for God to decide, [E] you know, that it is legitimate or not.
And [C#m] so, [F] I hope with these few points [F#] in mind,
I've been able to [F] convince you about the fact [E] that God, _
first of all, [G#m] _ mortified [F#m] the deeds of the flesh [D] by the spirit.
That's what the Bible says.
[E]
Second of all, who killed [C#m] Jesus?
_ I dare say [F#m] it's God.
Because the Bible says [A] Lamb was slain [E] _ from before the foundation of the earth.
[C#m] Before the foundation of the earth.
So, [F#] before it manifested ever [D] in the physical realm, you [E] know,
God had done it.
And so, [C#m] he killed Jesus.
[C#] The third would [E] be, you know, what I just [D] explained.
How that, [E] you know, killing is not murder.
It's not the same thing.
[C#]
So, God [G#] killed.
Yeah.
[D] _ _ _ _ [E] _
_ _ _ [C#m] _ _ _ _ [F#m] _
_ _ _ [D] _ _ _ _ [E] _
_ _ [C#m] _ _ My [F#m] love.
_ _ _ [D] _ _ _ _ _
[E] _ _ [C#m] _ _ _ _ _ _
[F#m] _ _ Silence [D] is still as the [E] midnight.
You're the one who can [C#m] kill and can make a [F#m] light.
