Hey, this is Greg Martin of the Kentucky Headhunters coming at you from the Psychedelic Kitchen
here in South Central Kentucky and today we're celebrating the birthday, music and legacy
of the late great Lowell George, founding member of Little Feet.
Lowell George, the innovative slide player, vocalist, songwriter, the rock and roll doctor,
the man, most soulful cat probably ever walked the earth.
You know, take one note, which I can't do, and just make it say a thousand things.
[A]
[Gm] He also used a metal slide, which I don't have today, and he plugged a Stratocaster,
a stock Stratocaster, usually sometimes with a Telecaster pickup in the back, straight
into an MXR or Dyna-Comp and then into a Fender amp, maybe a Dumble, maybe he was one of the
early Dumble guys, but [A] man, what a player.
Hey man, it's hard to play that one note like he did.
That's the hardest thing in the world to do.
Anyway, happy birthday Lowell George, thank you from me, the Kentucky Hat Hunters, the
readers of Vintage Guitar Magazine, the staff up there, [Gm] we're still trying to get it together
down here and learn how you did it.
And you're the man, you are the rock and roll doctor.
