[G] [E]
I've been spending all my money.
He was brought to the store by a guy named Jerry Martin that worked for them.
Greg was standing at the [Em] counter and I was talking to him.
I had showed him my bike I [E] built.
We walked around and I had to read him the warranty.
So he was standing there, but he was like preoccupied.
[A] So he looks at Jerry and he pulls his wallet.
He had it in his pants right in [F#] the front, [E] tucked down in there.
He pulls it out and told him to get him a pack of cigarettes and meet him back at the [B] house.
[G] He
[C] spun around [E] on one heel and did like a 360 and said, man, I'm going to be [Em] the midnight rider tonight.
Take me in the
[E] alleyway around [G] [E] Colorado Park.
We have a lot of [Em] people come through because they played in New York so much.
And a lot of people come through and talk [E] about them, want to know about them, or have
come [Em] here just because of that from New York.
You know, or maybe they're going to [A] Florida, but they're going to come by and go to the
big house and all that.
I guess they'll be in here asking [Em] questions.
So they'll come get me, you know, when I tell them what I know.
But a lot of people do from that point of view.
So I [B] imagine his [G] influence is pretty strong.
[A] I know when [E] he'd do daytime concerts during bike [G] week [E] and stuff like that.
So I think his own nature, he really [Bm] enjoyed it.
But you and I both know the road is [D] my only [A] true friend.
My first [C] thought when I [D] heard of the [Em] song was Chang, [D] [G] [D] because Chang's always been [A] his true friend.
And then through the song, [G#] I know that [A] he's saying that the [F#] road is his [Bm] only true friend.
But I think that his whole demeanor [D] towards his last [G#] music [Em] was kind of a [A] respect of a
lot of things.
He continued to perform, and he did that album [Bm] right through probably no telling what kind
of pain and sickness without anybody ever hearing about it.
And [A] so, you know, he became a stronger and stronger [D] person the longer he lived.
You're haunted by [A] the music
[E] of [F#m] my soul when [E] I'm gone.
I don't [D] know.
Greg's influence will probably be [A] used as like a motivator [E] for people with [F#m] motorcycles
and [A] music and all of it, you know, or a [E] tie in, you know.
