Hey everybody, this is Bob [Em] from MusicStoreLive.com.
Today we're taking a look at a Gretsch Electromatic G5420T.
[N] It's a fully hollow body, dual F-holes, 2.75 inches deep in the body.
It's got a maple neck with bound rosewood fretboard, hump block inlays, and a 24.5 inch scale length.
But I'll just take you through a few clean sounds before we get things gritty.
So I'll just start over here on the neck.

For all you Bigsby lovers, I think it's great, [G] really squishy, great response, never throws
the guitar [F#m] out of tune.
This guitar has a [N] set of blacktop filter trons on it.
And the idea for these pickups came from an old vintage pickup, a Baldwin era filter tron
that was uncovered.
And it knocked everybody out apparently at Gretsch, so what they did was they redesigned
some pickups kind of after this vintage pickup for this line of guitars.
And what you get is a lot of punch, you get plenty of sparkle, it's really jangly, it's
a warm pickup.
And it's a nice set that walks the line easily between doing the warm, clear kind of thing,
and then when you crank things up you get a lot of [G] nice grit off of it.
It's got a nice response.
