And we came [D] in off the road one time and he said, now, [E] he called me, he [F] didn't call me
Dale, he called me Dale McCurry.
He said, Dale, now I [D] want you to learn the words to In Despair, because [F] I want to do
that on the Grand Ole Opry on [D] Saturday night.
And so I learned the words, and you know, it's pretty simple.
Now, [Dm] some of those songs that I tried to learn of [Gbm] his, I would get on the [G] Opry and get excited
and I'd get the words mixed up and sing the wrong words and everything.
But [D] this one I did in this year.
I got this pretty good.
[E] Of course, Bill Keith always had his [D] part on that five string.
Now, I got to tell you a little story about, if we got [G] time for all this, [N] we would play
the, every Saturday night we'd play the Grand Ole Opry, you know.
Bill Monroe would play Rawhide, because that was [Bb] a big number that he played all the [G] time,
you know.
And I'll tell you, Bill Keith come up with a badge break that was out of this world,
and when he'd [E] get on that, [D] he would tear the house down when he played that badge break on Rawhide.
And of course, Bill Monroe, he'd get around the middle of that tune and then he'd speed it up.
And the folks would applaud so loud you couldn't [A] even tell what he was [Eb] playing.
And I [Gb] know probably Bill Keith and myself both had to [G] look, because he would pat his
left heel like this.
[B] He never did pat his foot.
And we had to play to that, because we [F] couldn't play to what he was playing.
And we couldn't hear it for the applause, [D] it was just too loud.
Yeah, it was, that's true.
[F] You ask Bill Keith when you sing, he's right [D] here, come for it.
You know, Bill, I just run up with a badge.
Anyway, we're going to do this, it's entitled In Despair.
