_ Hey Barcelona, here's how to do Bowling for Soup.
_ _ The girl all the bad guys want.
So it's a little bit hard.
Like, _ it's one of those songs that sounds easy,
but it is a little bit tricky.
So what I would do is pull up the two tabs
that I think are helpful.
So the first one is version [C#] 6, and it's super accurate.
_ But I don't know how good you are.
Like, this would be too hard for a lot of my students
to play, _ _ _ like, beginner students.
So _ that's just because it uses a lot of subtle [D] little things.
But here's the intro from that tab.
So it's going to go, _ _ [A] oh, one thing.
This needs to be drop D tuning. _
_ _ So what you got to [G] do real fast, if you
don't know how [E] to do drop D tuning, is you _ need to,
let's say it's in regular tuning.
[D] _ _ _ [E] _ _
_ _ _ _ [G] _ _ _ _
_ [D] Power [G] chords are like that, right? _
It's in drop D, so what you do is hit [D] the D string,
[E] and then start hitting this.
[D] _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ [F] _ _ [B] Now power chords [D] are like this. _
_ _ _ _ _ _ So if that doesn't make sense, you can just get a tuner
and tune this down to D.
_ Then what you want to do is look at version 6.
The intro is real good.
_ _ [B] _
_ _ _ [A] So that was fast, but you're [D] going to go 0, _ 5, _ [C#] 4, _
[A] 0, [F#] 4, _ _ [D] 5,
4, 0, [A] _ [G] 5, _ [C#] 4, _ [A] 0, [B] 2, _ [A] 0, [G]
5, [F#] 4.
_ [D] So _ _ [A] _
_ [D] _ _ _ _ [G] _ _ _
_ _ _ _ [F#m] _ _ just practice it slow [D] until you got it.
_ [A] _ _ [G] _ _
[G] _ [Cm] It kind of helps us to remember the first [D] note is. _
[F#] Then it goes to 4 and [G] 5.
So [F#] I mean [B] the notes on the bottom [D] string.
_ _ [F#] _ _ [G]
That's kind of how [D] I memorize it.
_ _ _ [A] _ _
[B] _ _ _ _ That's the first part.
The next part, I would also look at version 6.
And then after this, I would go to the other tab, which
is version, _ I don't know what version it is. _
_ I'm not sure.
But I'll write easier tab in the description.
_ _ So the easier tab, we got this part wrong, definitely.
So look at version 6 for this.
It's going to be all [D] 0's. _
_ _ _ _ _ _ [G] _ _
_ [D] _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ So 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 1, 2, 3, [G] 4, then 5, 1, 2, 3, 4, then [A] 7, _
four [D] times. _ _ _ _ _
[D] _ _ _ [G] _ _ _ [A] _ [D] _
_ _ _ _ [A] _ _ [D] _ _
[G] _ _ _ [G#m] Then after this, I would switch to the easier tab
_ to learn the other parts because they're accurate enough.
_ The only thing, like I said, was wrong
was that intro and the verse.
Because they have [D] 0.
They have, _ _ [C#] _
[B] that's just not right.
After that, you want to go up to look at this,
where it says verse part 2, and she walks.
It's going to be 9.
_ _ [A] _
_ [B] So 9, _ [A] 7, _ [G] 5, _ _ [D] 0, _ [E]
2, _ _ 5. _ _
[C#] So there's that part.
And [D] then you got, _ _ this is pre [E]-chorus.
_ _ _ [C#] _ _ _ [G] _ _
So 0, [D] 0, _ [E] 2, 2, 4, [C#] 4, 2, [G] _ _ _ _
_ [E] _ _ 2.
So the next part is right under pre-chorus.
It's going to be 2, _ _ _ [C#] 4, _ _ [G] 5, _ [C#] 4, _
_ [G] 5, _ [A] 7. _ _
_ _ [F#m] _ _ [E] _ _ _
Then there's a part that's not in the easier tab.
So you got to go back to version 6.
_ _ And let me see where it is.
It's called, it's _ _ kind of a hard one.
But I'll just put it in here.
It's _ _ called middle section in version 6.
And it's going to go, [B] _ _ _ [A] _ _
_ _ [G] _ _ _ _ _ _
_ [E] _ _ _ _ _ [A] _ _
_ _ _ [B] it's kind of weird.
It goes 9, _
_ _ _ [A] _ _ [G] 7, 5, _ _ _ _ _ _ [B]
0, _ _ [A] 7, _ 5.
_ You can do this little octave [E] thing, 7, 9, _ [D] 5, 7, _ [C#] 4, 6, _ [Bm] 2, 4,
[A] and then A5. _ _ _ _
[D] And also, the easier one doesn't have this other part.
I'll do this too.
It's called the breakdown. _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _ [G] _ [D] _
_ _ So what you do is you're going to do [D] 0's, _ _ _ _ [E] _ _ _ _
_ _ [F#m] _ _ _ _ _
[D] 5.
_ _ [B] _ And then you can do a little [G#] slide.
_ _ [F#] And that's really the whole song.
So again, I'm kind of, it's one of those songs
that it's like _ easy _ to kind of do,
but kind of hard to do exactly like they're doing.
So start out with these parts.
And then if it's too easy, then let me know.
And I'll just do version 6.
Because it's got a lot of weird [D] stuff
like where you got to be like, _ _ _ [D] _ _
_ it sounds good,
but it's definitely getting harder.
So let me know.
