If you store the pick in your middle finger, who am I to [F] reason with you otherwise?
But you are wasting the best finger on that hand
To do a job that anything else could do you could stick the pick in your mouth
You [B] could do whatever
[D] But uh, it seems a shame to use your middle finger because then you don't have any good fingers next to each other that you
Can use as a pair
I'm sometimes guilty of tucking in the first finger, which is
Nearly as bad as the way you've chosen [F#] to solve this problem
But at least I have a choice of pairs of fingers.
I either [G#] have
These [F#] two together which are both mighty meaty [Fm] fingers and [F#] you [B] can get a fairly good toner of that pair or
[E] [F] Or you can use that that one and this one together.
I'm not really a full-on eight finger tapper
I like the idea that
Whatever you're playing at any moment
You should be able to switch to any other [E] aspect of your technique with as little adjustment as possible.
I try and roll it all together
So I've never really gone for this full-on
Eight finger thing.
It seems slightly awkward to me
It seems if you wanted to get really good at eight finger tapping and I know obviously some people have
But to my way of thinking you'd want the guitar up here so that you can fret proper
You'd also want to get rid of this cutaway
[D#] Completely by an [C#] explorer or something and then this hand could be a mirror image of [A] that hand and you can get your thumb behind [G#m] there and
Everything would feel good and everything [F] this hand knows about fretting notes would [F#] apply to this
So it seems like there's always a it seems like there's always a compromise
When you're trying to tap with lots of fingers on the guitar for me, it's generally pairs.
It's either those two or these two and
If I have a problem with that I'll try and overcompensate by using [F] as many fingers on this [F] hand as possible
There's something like [F#]
that and maybe other
[D#] What am I doing?
[F#] Maybe someone else would [F] play it that way
But don't trust me trust bumblefoot trust the incredible incredible Ron file because he seems to have a similar approach
If in doubt do some stretchy stuff with this hand because it's playing it's been playing guitar for more years [D#] and it's better at fretting notes
[F] And just use as many of these fingers as you need
So I'm not preaching this as gospel.
This is just the way I look at it.
And it's what [N] works for me.
I hope it helps
