Harry Manx explains how to play the Mohan Veena [HD] The Inside Sleeve, ABC Radio National chords
Start Jamming...
[G] [Dm]
So [D] this is the Mohan Vena here, and it's got 20 strings.
And what is very [D] interesting about it is that there's two layers of strings running parallel.
There's the upper layer, and then I reach through with my small finger,
and I strum the bottom layer, the sympathetics.
I don't play the sympathetics often.
They sing by themselves if I strum the top ones.
And those lower strings are all attached here [F] with these tuning heads.
So there's many of them here.
And the other [F#] interesting thing is that although there's 20 strings,
I actually only play on these three, the first three.
And there's only two notes there.
These are the same note, and there's one [A] more note here.
So really I'm playing on [Gm] two notes out of 20 strings.
[D] That's the same string arrangement like a sitar.
[Dm]
That was good, eh?
A little lesson, that's good because [Dm] there's none of that.
[D] [Dm]
