Hey guys, what's going on?
This is Pedro from Music by Pedro.
Hope everybody's having an awesome day
I wanted to take a second to share with you guys one
Instrument that has been requested over and over again people want to know what I'm playing now
And they want to know the model and all that kind of stuff
So I figured I'd make a video and share it with you guys
This guy is the P Moria system 76 dark vintage soprano saxophone
Now I'm gonna play a little bit of this for you guys in just a little bit
But I want to tell you a little bit about it first
Okay, so the first thing to keep in mind is that it has a vintage lacquer to it and it gives us such a cool age
Look, they basically brushed a couple of dark areas and it makes it look very very cool Okay
a couple of great things to keep in mind the action is very very soft the instrument itself is super quiet and
The alloy that they use for the metal actually gives us such a nice warm sound in comparison to other saxophones
Now I'm gonna play a little bit on my classical setup here
Which is a C star with a BG ligature here
And it's gonna give you a really good idea of how this horn will perform if you want to play it for just classical only
So the soprano saxophone comes in two options
It comes in a one-piece horn, which is neck and body all together in one piece
usually will be straight and then the other option that they have is a
Split options a two-piece option which comes with a curved neck or a straight neck
I'll show you the straight neck that it comes with also
You don't have to say which one you want
You just kind of get to play with either or and you can see which one works better for you
I personally like the curved neck because when I play with a straight neck, I feel like I have to do this
I have to pop the horn out because I have to get the angle just right for the mouthpiece
To feel where I can get the best sound possible
I like the curve because it kind of lets me bring the saxophone down a little bit so I can play it like this
Whereas if I was playing with a straight neck, I'd have to do this
Right, so it just gets a little too flashy for my taste.
I just like to worry about making music
I don't really like that awkward angle myself.
So I go with the curved neck.
So I've got my classical setup here
I'm gonna play a little bit for you guys.
You can hear the warm tone that this instrument is able to play
[Dm] [C]
[Am] [G] [C]
[Fm] [G]
[B] [C] [Dm] [G]
[Fm]
Very nice very easy blowing very very easy blowing so there's not a lot of resistance
Aside from it being a very natural free blowing instrument.
There's not a lot of it.
I remember I had a couple of sopranos back
Man, I felt like I was blowing against the wall [C#] really because I had to push
Really hard to get the instrument to speak.
It was a lot of resistance
This one is definitely more free blowing the keys feel really nice
It does have the abalone touch keys also and it feels really really good.
It's very quiet.
Also
The palm keys come up just at the right height
Personally for me so I don't have to worry about trying to bend my wrist too much as I'm as you're looking at my fingers
Right now I'm actually already touching
These palm keys so it works out really good.
I really really like the look of it
Personally, it looks like my alto and my tenor and it plays a lot like my alto and my tenor
And if I don't have to worry about learning all new things for all new instrument, then I'm definitely gonna stick with that model
So this is the P Mori at system 76.
It does have the brass
octave thumb rest here and the octave key nice and shaped around the
Around the thumb rest because you're when you're playing you're supposed to have your thumb like this not like this
So it's always in contact and it is very very smooth, which I really particularly prefer
It does have a high F sharp key as well for those of you that may want to know and it has a brass
Thumb hook also for the right hand.
So the whole thing just looks really nice.
It plays really well
I'm gonna put my jazz set up now so you guys can hear a little bit about what that sounds like
So I've got my jazz set up on now.
This is a Jody jazz HR mouthpiece and BG ligature
[D]
[E] [A]
[G]
[Dm] So again, it's still very very free-blowing and it is a just all-around good horn very versatile for either classical or jazz guys
So I absolutely love it.
I can't wait to play more and more with it
You guys have probably seen some of my covers already with it.
I just hadn't gotten around to reviewing it quite [N] officially yet
So here you are guys if you're interested in the horn
I'm gonna put some information some links below so you guys can check it out read up a little bit more about it
Now the horn itself comes in a really really cool case
It comes in a soprano case just like that and the big slot here.
You can put all kinds of accessories
Got your neck strap comes with an extra
Polishing cloth some chapstick or cork grease as I call it
And then you can actually the big slot back here
You can use it to carry a flute which is kind of makes a
Makes it a pretty versatile case for in case you happen to do a flute soprano gig
You definitely bring those two in one case instead also has backpack straps and a nice big old pocket in the front
So you can carry your music and other little accessories and whatnot.
So guys that's basically it on the soprano
Thank you guys for watching check out more information about it over at p more at music calm and I'll put links below
I hope you guys have an awesome day, and I'll see you next time.
