Okay, this next song I'm gonna do for you is
It's called he took your place
one that I wrote and
It being Easter time.
It's an appropriate song for this
I had been trying to find a good Easter song and those of you that are familiar with a lot of the good old-time gospel songs
Probably think of because he loved me
and
He has risen and those two are the you know standard Easter songs
But back then when I wrote this I've been seeing those quite a bit anyway, and I didn't want to kind of warm out
So I thought well, I can't finally get Easter song couldn't think of one for no no no reason at all
And as many songs as I've got and I thought well, I can't find one.
Maybe I can write one
So that's where this song came from and it's called he took your place
[A]
Let me tell you of a story of a man who shared his glory
On a hill called
[B] Gagatha [E] one day
[A] He suffered pain he suffered bruises
But [E] the man he still went through [A] it.
Why can't you see that?
the [E] man took your place
[A] [D] The man whose name is known throughout the world
As [F#] a man who came to [B]
show [E] us away
He [A] bled and died on Mount Calvary and rose [E] again
To claim the victory.
Oh, I'm so [A] glad that the man took [A] my place
No man has tried to change the story it will never [Em] be the [A] glory
Of the Lord who bore [B] our sin that one [E] day
[A] He bought my ticket into heaven he [E] saved my soul I am forgiven
[A] Oh, I'm so glad that [E] the man took [A] my place
[B]
The man [Em] whose [E] name [A]
is known throughout the world
[F#m]
Who came to [B] show [A] us away
[E] He [A] bled and died on Mount Calvary and rose again
To claim the victory.
Oh, I'm so glad that [E] the man took [A] my place
Please don't forget that the man took [D] your place
