Here's a rock group that was formed in the late 60's that wore mime makeup and performed mime routines in between sets.
Eventually they caught the attention of Todd Rundgren and became Todd's backing band on many of his performances.
Todd liked them so much that in 1975 he produced this LP for them and they had a tune on it called
It Wouldn't Have Made Any Difference.
Yes, the same song that Todd does on his LP Something Anything.
If you've not heard this version, I really think you're going to like it.

[C] [D] [G]
you remember [F#] [Bm] the last [G] time I said
[D] [G] If I ever thought [C] of lying
[G] [C] I'd [B] rather [G] think of [Am] dying instead
[C] Baby, you remember [G] the last time
You called me [F#] to [D] say [Em] we were through
[D] [Em] How [G] it took [C] a million tears
[G] [C] Just [B] to [Am] prove they all were for you
But [C] those [Dm] days are [C] through
[G] Cause it wouldn't have made any difference
[Em] If you loved me
[C] How could you love [G] me when it wouldn't really make any difference
[D] If you really loved [Em] me
You [C] just [Dm] didn't love [C] me
[G] Cause I know of hundreds [Bm] of times I [Em] could be
In the most [G] unfaithful
[C] [Em] As you always [Am] picture me
[C] Baby, you remember [G] that
No, I can't always [Em] show proof I was true
No one else could [C] change my mind
Or [Em] stop me [Am] coming home to you
[C] But those days [Dm] are [C] through
[G] Cause it wouldn't have made any difference
If [Em] you loved me
[E] How could you love me when [G] it wouldn't really make any [Bm] [G] difference
[Bm] If you really [G] loved me
You [C] just didn't [Dm] love [C] [G] me
Had [C] to believe [G] me
Believe [Dm] [C] [G] me
Had to look for [Bm] a reason [Em] to be [Bm] unhappy [Em] with me
[Am] And make [Bm] me regret [C] loving [D] you
[C] But those days [Dm] are [C] through
Cause [G] it wouldn't have made any [D] [G] difference
[Bm] If you [Em] loved me
