Can you share with our audience some of the [B] songs that you did for us?
We did a few off of the new release, Kūpua [E] Sakura.
_ [N] _ _ We did Pua Kiele.
We did Pua Tulipa.
And we did the title track off of the album, Kūpua Sakura. _
All the Pua songs.
_ And we had mom, too.
Oh, mom was in there.
Yes.
_ All right.
You got to give props to mom.
[Bm] She did a beautiful hula, so we're [F] excited for you to see that.
So, [Bb] are all of these songs originals? _ _ _
_ Well, [Am] _ Kūpua Sakura was my [E] first attempt at writing, _ composing.
[N] And the other two, _ _ Pua Tulipa is from Kawai Kapuokalani Huet.
And Pua Kiele was from my kumuul, El Barcarsi, _ which was written a long time ago.
Nice.
So, can you tell us a little bit about _ Pua Sakura? _ _ _ _
Well, the cherry blossom of the sakura is one of my mom's favorite flowers.
That along with the pikake.
So, I kind of used the sakura as the inspiration for the song. _ _
_ _ [E] In tribute and _ _ what _ _ _ _ _ the sakura is a symbol of strength and resiliency.
And I _ hopefully _ portrayed that in the song to [N] _ describe my mom.
You did a great job.
And then you have mom dancing, too.
So, even better.
She was [B] forced to.
Yeah.
[Db] Because, you know, when you [E] write a song for someone, they don't usually sing it or perform it.
But I [F] kind of forced her.
[Bb] Say, mom, you got to dance.
Here we go.

Exactly what happened.

So, what have you been up to lately?
Have you been traveling? _

_ Yeah, actually we've been doing a lot of stuff [Am] here at home.
_ Last [Bbm] year we were in Japan [Am] towards the end of the [Bb] year.
But this year, _ we just got through doing Mango [Em] Jam and _ Hawaii Public Radio.
And, you know, movie nights and [A] Hawaii Kai Town Center and all kinds of stuff here at home.
Which is [F] nice.
Oh, yeah.
[Db] _ _ [B] I feel like the home gets to see [A] you a lot.
That's why. I know.
[N] We're always missing each other.
_ So good.
Now we can come watch you.
So, where are you at?
Well, Wednesdays and Fridays we're out at Aulani.
