Hey, it's Lux and I'm hanging out backstage at Point Fest with you two-time Grammy nominated highly suspect.
I feel like every single intro should have that in front of it.
Don't you think?
I mean, I love talking about the Grammy.
I mean, all day, the whole time is we should honestly, that's so cool.
No, I don't want to talk about the whole time.
But that's a really cool thing.
Not everybody [Ab] has Grammy nomination.
So it kind of should be mentioned.
But the last time I saw you was actually the day [B] you guys got the nomination.
So I didn't get to talk to you about the experience.
I just wanted to know, was it a cool time?
Was it, I mean, they stand and get your photo [N] taken and dress all up and stuff.
Was it cool?
I spent the night with Pamela Anderson.
Did you really?
I really did.
Like, what kind of spend the night?
Like hang out and she looked at your medal?
It was better than a Grammy will ever be.
You guys got to perform and stuff too, which by the way, it was so cool.
You could watch it online.
So I got to watch you guys perform.
I mean, I was in the studio probably playing highly suspect on the radio while watching
you guys perform [Eb] in California, which is pretty terrible, right?
No, I thought it was really awesome.
I really think you guys are fantastic anyway.
And you just played you fantastic performance at Point Fest.
The crowd was going crazy.
You guys had everyone with the arms to the left and the arms to the right.
And that's backwards because this is my right and that is my left.
But you had everyone watching in the mirror, though, you would know you would pick up on
the left, right.
I don't know if it does or not.
I don't know.
Well, today is your second to last day of tour.
Sorry. You're leaving.
[Bb] I'm sorry.
You're leaving tomorrow, right?
Tomorrow's the last day.
And then you head home after that.
We do not go home ever.
No, but we cannot.
Joel just told us not to tell anybody where we're going so that we don't get kidnapped.
But we are leaving the country.
Idea.
You're leaving.
So you have your passports on hand to leave the country after tomorrow's show.
We're going to go to L.A. for a couple of weeks, write some songs, and then we're going
to go record a second [E] album.
Third, if you're a true fan.
[B] And it's in a different country.
But that's so exciting.
I don't know.
I don't know.
I don't know.
It rhymes with, does it?
Does it?
There are no, I can't think [Ab] of one country that rhymes with that.
Yeah.
It's [B] actually a lot if you really think about it.
Don't.
Is Prussia still a thing?
Yeah.
With the [Eb] P?
Totally.
Okay.
I don't know.
Hey, man, geography's not our thing.
But writing a new album.
Certainly not.
So is it already written and you're [B] going to go record it?
Or are you guys going over there to get the writing done?
It is not written.
But we hope to have some more material for you to spin on the point.
That would be so great.
Well, you guys put out a video not too long ago for a song that's obviously not on the last record.
Serotonia, is that going to be a part of the next record?
I [Ab] don't think so.
No, that's just a single on its own?
The [F] record's going to come out in the fall.
So it's like, that would be [Gb] weird.
That would be lazy, I think.
All right.
Watch, we're going to put it on there and you're going to be like, they were lazy.
We actually are lazy.
We were [B] actually really lazy.
It better be the last track on the album.
It depends on how many songs we get written.
So, yeah.
Well, do you guys have a certain number you want to hit?
Like, is there like, you're going to this album, like, I need 12 good songs or I need nine good songs?
Maybe like five good songs and five horrible songs.
Yeah, some really bad songs.
That would be a good mix.
And that's 10, so that would leave one spot for 11.
Drop that tune on there.
No, there's no number.
It doesn't [Gb] matter, like, you know, how many songs get written as long as they're good.
Just creatively what [B] comes out.
Well, you guys have been on tour for quite some time.
I've got to ask, were there any cities where you were like, get me out of here?
This is like a terrible, I mean.
Should we?
Yeah, [Bm] no, let's not do that.
I'm just saying the city.
Is there a city that was [N] like stressful?
There is one city.
There is one city that we fucking hate.
Do you want to share the story about the city and not the city itself?
Okay, yeah.
Okay, there you go.
That way nobody in the city is [Bb] harmed, but at the same time, get tour stories shared.
There was one city where this band tried to get on the bill, and we understand that hustle, but we were not [Ab] informed about it.
And all of a sudden we were told that, [Bb] like, oh, this band's going to be on the bill.
And [B] like, they had been on Twitter and they [Am] were like, yo, like, fucking, who's dick do I got to suck to get on this [B] show?
And we did not accept them to get on the show.
But then we found out they're on the show, so we.
Wait, you mean that [Eb] isn't the acceptable manner to get to be an open show?
We did it.
We earned our stripes.
We were like touring with a band already.
Yeah, you [C] have to be out on the tour with you.
So note to opening band, note to any band out there, [Ab] don't be a jerk when you're trying [C] to play with people because we're very friendly.
We'd love to [Ab] play with you, but like go about it [B] through the right path.
So [A] I wind up in the bus [F] after the show with [G] this beautiful young lady.
And in the middle of [E] our talk, she says, so [Bb] now will you let [B] my boyfriend's band open up?
No!
[G] That's a mic drop to the nuts.
I'm so glad your lap was there.
No, [A] [Bb] I understand.
But yeah, then I was like, wow, is that what this.
That's not the right way.
[B] You know, I got a man in a band and they opened for you at the Duck Room.
And I'll just say that I did not tweet you any ridiculous things or promise you anything, [Ab] you know, to get them there.
No, and your [N] man's band is great.
Make sure you check out the hush list.
Oh, [B] that's so nice.
Well, is there any city where you're like, this is what I'm meant to be doing?
Was there a performance or a city so far in this last tour where you're like, oh, like the skies open up.
The crowd is perfect.
Like things are going Atlanta.
Big show, small [Bb] show.
Atlanta [Abm] is always lit.
[B] They just get crazy.
[Ab] You guys are turning St.
Louis is great.
We're doing [G] the Del Mar in the fall.
Yeah.
Like it's a [B] brand new venue for you guys.
That'd be so great.
Yeah, it's going to [B] be fun.
That's good because I would like you guys to come back.
I think you guys should just at least come back like once or twice a year would [F] be good for me.
Great.
Healthy [B] number.
As a highly suspect fan, that'd be great.
One to twice a year.
I mean, if you could do like five or six, that'd be great.
But I understand there are other cities that [N] deserve the maybe guys will let us on the main stage at Point Fest next year.
That would be so cool because this is your second point.
This would be so [Db] cool.
Did everybody look into the [B] camera real dramatically?
Well, the last time you guys were here, you gifted me with one of my favorite things.
Incense.
Incense.
I love incense.
They know this about me.
The studio is a smelly place, so incense is a good thing.
And I know [G] that you are and have been a BMXer in your previous world.
That is right.
So I did the only worthwhile thing and get you rad on DVD.
Oh, look at the face.
Rad [B] on DVD, one of the best [Ab] 80s BMX movies [Db] ever.
Oh, no.
So this interview is over.
Ladies and gentlemen, highly suspect.
You guys are going to be on the tour for another [B] day and you need a good movie for tonight.
So there you go.
[Bb] Grammy nominated.
The [B] next album is going to be.
Do you guys have any idea what this movie means to me?
Do you even know?
[Db] Lori Loughlin.
Lori Loughlin.
Lori Loughlin.
This movie, Rad, is more than fucking rad.
I've watched this movie like 15,000 times.
Crew Jones, BMX.
The dance scene.
Yes.
It's like a school dance.
Send me an angry.
You and I smoked [B] and sat there and watched that one winter.
Well, good.
Now tonight you have something else to watch on your trek to your last night on this stop before you go off to write the best record that's ever going to be written.
This will be inspiration.
And you're going to write the best record that's ever been done.
Yeah, BMX album.
And then you're going to bring it straight to St.
Louis to the Point first.
That's right.
No pressure.
No pressure.
None.
Well, we're going to go party now because I know Point Fest is still going on.
Oh, you're going to party now?
Well, now that I'm done with the best interview of the day, I can totally go party.
Just making me so jealous.
This is highly suspect.
I'm locked backstage at Point Fest.
We love you, Lux.
[A] We love you, Point Fest.
Thank you.
I feel like every single intro should have that in front of it.

_ _ _ Ladies and gentlemen, highly suspect. _
_ You guys are going to be on the tour for another [B] day and you need a good movie for tonight.
So there you go.
[Bb] _ Grammy nominated.
_ So [A] I wind up in the bus [F] after the show with [G] this beautiful young lady.
And in the middle of [E] our talk, she _ _ says, so [Bb] now will you let [B] my boyfriend's band open up?
No! _ _ _
_ _ _ [G] That's a mic drop to the nuts.
I'm so glad your lap was there.
No, [A] _ [Bb] I understand.
_ _ Incense.
Incense.
I love incense.
They know this about me.
The studio is a smelly place, so incense is a good thing.
And I know [G] that you are and have been a BMXer in your previous world.
