[Am] [Bb]
[Em] I'm from India and I've been a Hindu by birth and so we worshipped I don't know how many
[B] idols and how many so [Em]-called gods and [E] like in India you have over 300 [B] million gods.
So whatever you want to worship you can worship.
But the whole focus was [Em] performance, the whole focus was do well in life, be nice to people.
Then I got into one of the top schools in India for MBA, Business Studies.
But after I reached there I realized I wasn't doing that well and my grades were not you
know the top.
[E] So I started getting [B] depressed, I started feeling why [Bm] is this happening, why [Em] am I not
doing well and I started sensing [Bm] that there must be something [Em] between me and God that
has gone wrong [Bm] otherwise God [Em] wouldn't let me go through all this.
As I started saying I [Bm] have to appease the gods, I have to [Em] make them happy with me.
I'm [B] really desperate if I don't get help I might [Em] go crazy [Bm] or I might do something, I
might run away or kill [E] myself, I don't know.
I was so down [Em] and so I started praying to my [Bm] favorite [B] Indian God called [Em] Ganesha.
Ganesha is like [Bm] the elephant God and he is the [Em] God of education, of knowledge and as
a student I said oh if he is on my side I'll do [G] well.
So as [Em] I started praying I closed my [G] eyes, I knew the shlokas [Em] by heart.
As I prayed I saw a [Bm] male tusker, a big [Em] huge Indian elephant [D] charged towards me as I closed
my eyes and prayed.
[Em] And I opened my eyes and [D] I said this is really bad because [C] even my favorite God Ganesha has
turned away from me.
[D] But they are not telling me [Em] why, what did [D] I do?
If they'll just tell me I can [C] change.
[D] And no one was answering.
And then I remembered [Em] I had a Gideon's Bible, a little small Bible that I got free in school.
And so I opened that and [Bm] I started reading.
I don't even remember what I read, I don't know what I read, totally I don't know.
But in a matter of few seconds, you know something very tangible and which was almost like white light.
[G]
When I sensed it I knew it was so clean, it was so strong, [Cm] so forceful.
Just flowed through me from the top of my head and flowed right down to my feet.
[Gm] And as that flow happened, just lifted off so many of my fears [Cm] and burdens.
My sister woke up, she says it's about 2 o'clock in the morning, I don't know I just don't remember.
And she saw me and she said, my goodness your [Gm] face is glowing, [Eb] something has happened, what happened?
And I told her, [G] don't [C] worry Jesus is there, he'll take care of me.
So the next vacation [G] I came back to my home city and I met the [Gm] pastor of my church in
India which is New Life Fellowship.
And he led me in the prayer, he told me what it means to be born again.
I still tell everyone that I meet, I say [Am] he's the only God who [Dm] communicates.
He's the only God who will answer you where [C] you are.
A lot of [Dm] my friends immediately turned away from me.
Called me [G] names, they said oh you're a fanatic, you're a rebel, [Dm] you amount to nothing, you're
a [A] waste because [G] now you have Jesus as a [F] crutch for you.
I had to [C] confront my own faith, my Hindu religion I had to confront.
[Em] And it was difficult initially because it's like [Am] why only [C] Jesus?
[D] What's so special about you that is different from all my other gods?
Because [F] in the Hindu faith it's like all roads [G] lead to the same God.
Everyone somewhere gets to the door.
[F] But it's not true, only Jesus is the door.
[G] Only Jesus is the one person that we can go through.
Everything [Am] else is the wall and you can never get past [F] that.
And I remember fighting with Jesus and saying why did [Am] you make it so complex?
[C] Why don't you [F] make 100 doors, 300 doors so that [Dm] somehow we'll all enter in.
[Am] He said actually I made it so simple, [G] I'm saying there's only one door [G] so that you don't get confused.
[Dm] Because even if I made 100 doors, the enemy is going to make 1000 [G] doors, [Dm] which is going
to complicate even more.
So I said [F] there's only one door and I'm that [G] door.
Come through [Dm] me, the Father.
