[G#] I'm Dave [B] Faulkner and I [N] play guitar and sing.
[D#] Hi, [E] my name is Mark Kingsmall and I hit these things for the Hoodoo Gurus.
[D]
[N] Hi Guru's, I'm Brad Shepard and I play guitar for the Gurus.
Do you know where my strings went to?
Hi, I'm Clyde Bramley and I play bass guitar for the Hoodoo Gurus.
Well, if you want to know why we hold [Em] guitars, number one is because we can't afford new ones for a start.
But the best thing about it is, [E] you can do this.
[B]
[E]
I wear one, fifty and a rash, just to be done.
[D]
[E] And I'm losing [Am] all [E] my fashion.
[D]
[E] Oh, it grows my head, [D] [E] black [A] market, got in [E] my blood.
I'm the [A] real boss.
[E]
[N] Sure, there's a lot of American culture in Australia.
McDonald's is everywhere and we don't have Burger King.
They have a different name there because someone else copyrighted it.
But things like that, all the music is really international.
What is probably more interesting is what is Australian about Australia.
And that's something that's not so easy to explain because it comes, I guess, from the way the country developed in isolation and with the [G] conflicts and so forth.
There's a certain [G#] disrespect for authority.
We never really had the dream family image presented as part of [D] Australiana.
It was more like the guy who [G]
threw a stone at the police and was more of [D] a hero than the guy who [G] helped them strike traffic.
[E] I will [A]
burn [E] the highway in [A] love.
[E] Searching for the moon.
I can't stop [A#] until she [E] comes.
[A]
[C] Little while, [A] little while, [E] little while.
[G#] Lucy [A#] O'Ball hasn't personally [A] contributed anything to the album [N] itself, but a lot to my life.
It's one of my favourite programmes, I Love Lucy.
[D] Here's Lucy's OK.
I Love Lucy's a [C#] classic.
And [G] we're all big fans of television shows from many different [N] ages.
And she's just one of my heroes and so I got to put her name on the cover.
[Dm] I think I wanted to put Phyllis Tiller on [N] it, I don't know if she's there or not.
She's on there great.
I was called compared to Phyllis Tiller the last time I was in [D#] LA.
My hair was all heaved up.
So I was [Bm] pretty pleased with [A#] that actually.
Even though the [D#m] person thought they were criticising [E] me.
I thought it was great.
I can see the ground on Lucy O [A]'Ball.
[E] I can see the lips on Lucy O [A]'Tall.
I [B] can see the city on Lucy O'Ball.
[A] [E]
[A] [E] You're a doll, you won't be a cat.
[A] You'll be a cat, you won't be a cat.
I [B] love you.
[D] [E] We [A]
[E] [A#] play a fairly universal kind of music.
So it doesn't matter whether we come from Australia, [E] England or America.
Just our accents are a bit different.
