_ _ _ This is a tutorial for a video I made previously of house of the rising Sun just kind of the
solo part of it _ _
And this is just the way I did it in that video
_ _ So I think what I'll start with is the left hand
Okay, there's a chord progression.
I'll show it on the screen and you should probably write this down
_ It will help help you out so the first chord _
Is a minor
_ It's the only minor chord the rest are all just regular chords, but if you're not familiar with chords _
_ _ Typically you play the first the third the [A] fifth
[C] _
And in this case we're gonna play an active up from the first.
We'll call it the eighth I [Am] guess
_ _ _ That's a minor
_ _ But we're not going to play it solid we're gonna break [Gbm] it up.
We're gonna
Each chord we're gonna do the exact same way in this first part and play [A] the first [C] third
[E] _ _ [A] The _ [E]
fifth [C] the third and you switch to the next chord which is C _ _ _ _
[G] _ [C] _ [G] And _ [E] _ [D] D
_ [Bb] _ [Gbm] _ _
[D] _ _ _ [Gb] _ _ [F] _
_ _ _ _ _ [C]
Yeah
[A] _ _ _ The next set of chords a minor _ [C] _
[A] C
[C] _ _ _ _
_ _ [E] _ II _
_ twice _ _ _
[Ab] _ _ _ _ [A] next set a [C] minor
_ [A] _ [C] _
C _ _ [D] II _
That's _ [F] _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ [Abm]
a [A] minor
[C] _ [Am] _ _ [C] _
[E] II
So _ _
[Ab] _ _ _ _ _ _
[N] you want to practice that and kind of get that down where it's automatic?
_ Then work on adding the right hand _ _ And I'll
_ Play that now.
I guess in the first part if if you don't know all those chords are you can look that up
_ _ Online and _ _ _ _ _ _
with the right hand
I'll just play slowly.
I'll play the left hand along slowly so you kind of get a feel for it
How it's gonna sound anyway, and I'll just play it slower [Am] rather than try to speak out all the notes _ _ _
And _ _ _ _ _
[C] _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ then the any of the ease in this [F] part you can play a grace note of E [E] flat [Em] like that
_ [D] Alright _ _
_ _ _ _ [A] _ _
_ [F] _ _ _ _ _
_ _ [A] _ _ [Am] _ _
_ _ _ _ [C] _ _
_ _ _ _ _ [E] _
_ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ [Em] _ [C] _ [A] _ _
_ [Am] _ _ _ _ _
_ [C] _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ [D] _ _
_ _ _ _ [Gb] _ _
[F] _ _ _ _ _ [G] _
_ [Am] _ _ _ _ _
_ [E] _ _ _ _ [Ab] _
_ [Em] _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ [D] _ _ _
_ [N] for this last section
_ _ _ _ I'll show you a chord progression again
Instead of playing with the left hand we're gonna play a three note chord progression with the right hand
And the left hand will just play
the root of the chord
so the first chord is a minor so with the left hand all I'm going to do is play a
_ _ Just a single [A] note
_ _ [N] The right hand for this set of chords and a clue a minor starting on
_ A so [Am] that's a C _ E
And _ _ _ [Ab] I'm gonna play [N] it solid and then broken.
This is gonna be the same for all these chords coming [Am] up _ _
_ _ The _ [N]
left-hand Eric's just gonna play an a along [Am] with it
_ _ _ _ [A] _
I'm _ [N] gonna switch to C, but I'm gonna start on G.
So this might be a little tricky
_ [C] _ _ _ And start that's my chord
_ Still the same notes of the C chord
_ It's C E G, but the order I'm gonna start on G.
So you can go G C E
With my left hand, I still play C.
That's the root of the chord
So if I play it solid first and then broke go _ _ _ _ _ to D starting on the F [D] sharp _ _ _ _ _
You
Go to [Ab] F starting [F] on F
_ _ _ _ _ _
[Am] Back to a minor _ E _ [A] _ _ starting on G [E] sharp _ _ _
_ _ [Am] And _ _ [E] alright, _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ I guess [N] to put all together I would switch the tone over to an organ sound I like to use a rock organ _
_ _ And I'll just play it real quick so you can kind of see what the finished product _ sounds [Am] like and looks like _ _
_ [C] _ _ _ [D] _ _
_ [F] _ _ _ [Am] _ _
_ [C] _ _ _ [E] _ _
_ _ _ _ [Am] _ _
_ [C] _ _ _ [D] _ _
_ [F] _ _ [Am] _ _ _
_ [E] _ _ _ [Am] _ _
_ [C] _ _ _ [D] _ _
_ [F] _ _ _ [Am] _ _
_ [E] _ _ _ [Am] _ _
_ [E] _ _ _ [N] _
And one thing I didn't do there you you can play along with a
Rhythm you want to use something that's got three beats per measure
_ Might be called a six eight pattern
_ Maybe _ _ even a swing swing pattern might work
but you don't want a
_ Regular eight beat or four beat per measure
_ Because that won't work.
But there you go.
Hope it helps
