In this video I'm going to show you how to convert audio from an audio file into MIDI,
so that you can get the notes from that file's audio into the piano roll.
[A]
This can be useful if you have a vocal for example, and you want to figure out the notes
of that vocal.
So let's get started.
Drag in a vocal or any other audio clip you want to detect the notes from.
It can be anything you want.
[F#] Left click on the corner of the sample and select edit sample from the menu.
This will bring up Edison, [F] which is FL Studio's integrated audio editing and recording tool.
You can also do this from the channel rack.
Just click on the sample to bring up the sampler, click here and then here.
Now right click anywhere on the waveform itself and go to tools,
and then select convert to score and dump to piano roll.
The notes will appear in the piano [C#] roll,
and now you can use them to figure out the key of the track, make chords or whatever.
