Hey [Ab] my friends, today I show you how to make a song [D] like OVACY.
As you can see, [Gm] OVACY style project are not extremely complicated.
You have the lead [A] melody, piano [G] chords, the [Am] bass line and a guitar [Ab] and that's it.
[N] First I show you the OVACY melody that every one of you knows.
[G] [Gm]
[Bb] And to these melody I [F] created the [E] progressive OVACY style [Bb] piano chords.
[Gm] [Eb]
[F] [Gm] [Bb]
[Dm] And I added [A] some chords that play an octave higher [Bb] to make the chord line [E] a bit more full.
[Gm]
[Eb] [F] [Gm]
[Bb] [Dm] [D] And together the whole composition sounds like [Gm] this.
[Eb]
[F] [Gm]
[Dm] [Gm] [Eb]
[F] [Gm]
[Dm] [G] That's a pretty nice [C] foundation for the song we [Am] want to create.
[D] At first, I take [Ab] the lead melody, [A] and I paste it into some Nexus presets.
Nexus 2 was the maybe most used [F] plugin by OVACY.
[Gb] I took some strings [E] and a few brass presets [G] and I mixed them right here.
Together they sound like this.
[Fm] [Bb] [D]
[C] [Gm]
[F] [Bb] [Bb]
I put them all into one channel [G] and cut out the low [Gb] frequencies and some of the [E] highs because they sounded too harsh [Gb] in my opinion.
I gave them OTT [Am] for compression.
Then I put reverb on top that is linked to the peak [Gb] controller.
And the kickstart for the sidechain.
[E] OVACY love to use some pianos to give the track the [A] main body and atmosphere.
[Gm] These are the chords I showed you before.
[Eb] [F] [Gm]
[Bb] [Dm] And for [A] the bass I just took a simple sub bass and [D] a simple mid bass.
[G] For the mid bass I [E] cut out some very [Am] low frequencies and [Gb] boosted some frequencies in the [G] 250 area.
The main purpose of the mid bass [Db] is to give the track a stronger area [Ab] in the low mid area.
Therefore I boosted the 100 [Em] Hz area with the R [E] bass and I put an OTT on [A] top.
[Ebm] For the sub bass I boosted a little bit the very lows.
[D]
[A] Together the bassline [G] sounds like this.
[Eb] [F] [G]
[Bb] [A] And to give the track a more OVACY country [Abm] feeling we need to add an acoustic [Am] guitar.
[G] Therefore I took the same chords as [A] the piano and pasted it into this guitar [G] plugin called Ample Guitar.
[Eb]
[F] [G] [Bb]
[Dm] [E] To make the sound of the guitar a bit more realistic I [G] played with the velocity.
I just [F] cut out the very low a bit and [A] now guys we are coming to the drum loop.
[F] All the drums I used for this project are from my Progressive House [Am] Classics sample pack.
[G] I highly recommend these sample pack [Am] to you.
I [Ab] took kick 1 because it's lovely and [A] punchy.
I add a few drop claps for more punch and atmosphere.
[G]
[Db] I add a few claps [G] to [Ab] exhaust sounds for even more room.
Guys the crowd noise is very important because it fills up the per track in the high frequency area and I make your whole track more [N] wide.
I added some hi hats for more rhythm.
And I added [Bb] a tonal drop sound that you just barely can hear but it gives the drop even more [N] power.
Beginning in the break I put in a sub drop sound.
Before the drop I put in some [F] risers from my [Em] pack.
[E]
And I made a drum fill out of a few [B] snares right before the drop for more dynamics.
In the build up I made a cut off [Am] automation for the lead melody and that's it.
[G] Guys.
Before we listening to the whole of the C drop, I have [C] to tell you that you can get the Progressive House Classics sample pack on my [G] website.
[A] It has high quality [Db] 301 samples and [Gb] 300 presets which will definitely help you creating music.
[G] Also these FLP you can get for free on my website with all the [E] used samples and presets.
[A] [Ab] Make sure to write a [G] nice review after you get something that [Abm] people can see that my [Am] stuff is good.
So guys I [Ab] advertised enough.
