[Am] What is psytrance you may ask yourself?
Psytrance as known as
Psychedelic trance is a subgenre of trance [E] music.
Imagine you're chilling outside watching the sunset [Am] on the beach with your friends
and you just start hitting a big fat [G] butt of [A] weed.
Then you take some LSD and combine all of that with some shrooms.
That's pretty much how you make psytrance.
Psychedelic trance is supposed to be this super weird ass genre that makes you relax
and that makes you [B] enjoy [A] the experience of ascending out of this absolutely boring reality that we live in
dominated by the unfair society that all of us must follow in order to complete ourselves.
In the end we're just wasting our time because all we did during our lives was actually running from ourselves
desperate to achieve this inner peace that we all want.
But little did we know that we are never going to achieve it
because running towards it all the time only makes you run away from it.
Never really being able to actually achieve inner peace and [Gm] happiness
because of how worried you are about tomorrow, never enjoying and living life to the fullest today. _ _ _ _
So first off [Bb] make sure you're getting your tempo to around 140 bpm.
[A] When we're talking about [Gm] drums, make sure [Ab] you're downloading some psytrance drums off the internet or something.
[Am] I don't know.
Basically you need a kick like this on every 1 4 step. _ _
_ _ _ Now after 8 bars make sure you [Bb] spice things up.
So make sure you add some claps. _
_ _ _ _ _ Also [Eb] always add [A] cymbals so you keep things [N] interesting. _ _ _
_ _ _ _ Oh yeah and did I mention that you need some sort of snare fill at the end of every 8 bars? _
[A] Now let's talk [Gm] about our main element.
The bass.
[E] Get some sort of bass pluck like this [Cm] and add a 1 [E] 16 rhythm to [A] it.

_ Oh and I also have to mention that you can add little clicks to increase the transience of the bass pluck a little bit.
_ _ _ _ _ Also you have to add that [Ab] sub.
_ _ _ [Bb] Now one of the most important elements of [G] psytrance [E] is having a super trippy sequencer that is pretty fast.
Something kinda like this.
[Fm] _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
[A] You can find this stuff pretty easily like harmor and citrus are full of this type of presets.
Overall make sure to add extremely trippy [Cm] effects. _ _ _ _ _
[D] _ [F] And weird atmospheres. _ _ _
_ _ You [C] can even add stuff like this. _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _ [Bb] _ _
_ _ [Db] _ _ Oh yeah and this is the main sample.
_ _ _ [A] _ _ Overall make sure to filter in and out a lot of these elements because that's really how you can achieve a psytrance effect.
And that's pretty much it.
