Hey, Eric here from onestarguitarlessons.com giving you some 90s nostalgia when we come back.
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ [N] _
Alright, so if you remember the Meat Puppets, they had this great little tune called Backwater.
What we're going to do is go through some of the chord changes here and the strumming
pattern or the chunk chunk part is really interesting because [E] it's down down, up down
up down, [F#] down down, up down up down.
[C] So if you want to [E] play that lick, _ that's basically how you do that pattern there.
[G] Basically, we're going to start with the [E] chorus part.
For the chorus, it's going to be E to C sharp [C#m] minor to C [C] and ending on D.
[D] _ _ [E] E, _
[C#m] C sharp minor,
[C] to C, [D] E. _
And just to simplify the pattern [E] here, I'm just going down down up [C#m] up down
up down up down up up [C] down up down up up.
[D] _ _ [E] And once again for the verse part, _ _ [F#] down up up down up [C] down up down up up down up down
[E] up down up down up down up down up down.
Alright, so let's try it from the beginning.
_ _ [C#m] _ _ _ [C] _ _
[D] _ _ _ [E] I'm going to do that twice [C#m] for the intro part.
[C] _ _ [D] Workman.
_ _ [E] _ _
[F#] _ _ _ [C] _ _ _ [E] _ _
_ _ _ [F#] _ _ [C] And then [E] _ _ _ you can kick right into the chorus part. _ _
[C#m] _ _ _ [C] _ _ _ [D] _
[E] It may seem [C#m] to rearrange, in [C] the backwards [D] swirling there are some things that will never change.
[N] And really those are the only chords you need to know other than that bridge part.
Let's go over that real quickly.
Bridge part, we're going to go from [F] F to [D] G to [A] A.
A, _ [E] E, C, [C] F, [D] F, D, [A] A, C, [E] E, [C] C, C, [D] D.
_ [Bm] And then you're back into [N] the next part of that.
The solo is the same chords as the chorus.
And even for that bridge part [F] there, I'm just down up up down up [G] down up down up up [A] down up.
And those are the [E] chords you need to know.
[C] _ _ _ [D] _ _ [A] _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
